I was feeling really smug when I paid for a Nord subscription a week ago and was happily watching BBC iPlayer in Morocco for the past week. Not so smug tonight when we are back to error codes and not able to connect. Looks like £40 odd pound for a week's worth of iplayer!
Not really up on VPNs so don't know if there is anything else I can do.

I’m currently in Portugal and using Nord VPN and just watching Breakfast News on BBC and all working ok 👍
How are you accessing the VPN? I have it directly installed on my Teltonika RUT955 router so maybe different to your installation.

Hi, I downloaded the app on the fire stick. It worked fine for the first week. I might try uninstalling and reinstalling it but I don't hold out much hope😒

Our Express Vpn played up last night, we exited and clicked on the Vpn app first and then it worked.

You need to go into the app setting and select a diferent server.
I tried pretending I was in Ireland but no joy. On my phone it lets me choose a server in the UK but on fire stick the only choice I get is GB not specifically which server in the UK.

Our paid for Turbo VPN failed on BBC last night.
Changed connection mode setting from IPSec to ISSR and it worked. No idea what it all means.

iPlayer, Sky Go etc frequently block vpn ip adresses to discourage use of vpn’s. Annoying to say the least when it happen half way through a F1 GP. Just force it to select another uk server and you’ll get one which works. If you want you can message Nord so they know to change it.

Been using Nord for 2 years and, as Andy says above, Sky, BBC etc. block VPN servers, so you need to keep selecting a different server until you find one that works. It can take a while to find one, so write down the ones you have tried until you find one that works.

I had issues with Britbox, could not get a VPN to work at all, so cancelled my subscription

Good luck!

Well I've just tried it again and I can watch BBC on catch up but not live. I'll settle for that. If I access the app with my phone I can choose a place in the UK but not on the Fire stick.

Had a look for connection mode setting but couldn't find anything that looked remotely like it. I'll settle for catch up and hope that keeps working.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions

I think Nord have had to tailor their app to work specifically with firestick. Amazon control 3rd party apps that are available for download from them so that have to do what they are told.
Some apps that u download from elsewhere won't work on a firestick.

Have you got the latest NordVpn update on your firestick?
I think so because I only downloaded it a couple of weeks ago. I can get stuff on catch up which is fine for me.

Content is spread over a number of servers, not just one server, so if the VPN has an issue with one set of servers that can lead to some content working (eg catch up) and other content (live) not working.

I have issues with ITVX...(when testing, not watching as there is nothing worth watching on ITV!!!) - it takes three or four attempts before the content (live or catch up) kicks in. This is using various VPNs and Smart DNS services on numerous devices. Suggests it is an ITVX problem and not a VPN / device issues, as many others seem to have similar issues. Seems like ITVX are using the public for their testing!
