We find the engine and general cab noise excessive in our Iveco chassis cab converted camper.
Is there any noise insulation tips to quite things down in the front? The rear is fine, kids can hear the cab radio better in their rear seats than we can in the front!! And yes, I know its a van not a range rover :)

You could remove the door cards and line with a Yogo mat cut to size being careful not to foul the window channels, remove the roof lining and do the same, lift the carpets and do the same. Stick your head up under the dash to see how much bulkhead is visible, that'll want covering as well. That'll do for a start!

Plenty of self adhsive foam sheets available used in car stereo upgrades. Lift carpet and apply and remove dash to apply to bulk head and rear of plastic dash parts.

If you haven't already then fit carpets with felt underlay on cab floor.
Next step, worth it, but long winded, buy self adhesive sound deadening packs from Amazon/E Bay. There are several types some lighter than others.
They normally come in 12" squares, easy to cut and mold round things. I fitted these to sound deaden the doors for a door speaker upgrade, its silver backed to reflect heat, so after doors you could lift bonnet sound proof bulkhead, and under bonnet.
Some van makes are better than others at soundproofing, we were lucky with ours.
Good luck

I had the same thought tonight as I took my van out for the first time.

It's still quite noisy despite the cushions to absorb the noise.

I have yet to carpet the cab or van floor what underlay should use?

Another carpet question.

Would you bolt seats through the carpet or bolt seats down and carpet around them?

Anyone tried wool underlay better sound proofing apparently than normal underlay?

Cheers James

Cheapest option, earplugs, not a joke reply use them all the time riding motorbike

I have just fitted the noise killer pack as mentioned above and it has worked a treat, has got rid of a lot of the noise and we can here the radio, we bolted the seats back through the sound deadening mat which is similar to underlay.
