Hi there,

I'm quite new to the motorhome world having purchased my camper this year.. I had some trouble over the weekend, a loose live connection to my water pump caused my pump to keep running (brushed off cable while emptying the water tank making it loose), after noticing the issue I turned off the main power switch to reseat the cable but after doing so the power will not not switch back on, the controil board will not switch on so I am unable to restore power and raise up my step.

I did a quick check fuses seem to be good.

Any advice would be much appreciated, there is a EBL100 elektroblock and a DL200 controller, both of which were working previous to this issue

Have you checked the leisure battery voltage with a multimeter on the battery terminals ?
If it's too low the panel won't switch on to protect the battery.

The battery seemed to have sufficient charge but was getting hot so I disconnected it, will take another look today

When you say that you turned off the main power switch, do you mean the one on the EBL or the water pump main switch?

Hi there,
thanks for the reply, I turned off the one on the EBL

If you turned off the power on the small slide switch on the EBLthose are notorious for not turning back on.
Give the switch a squirt of contact cleaner and operate a few times. In an emergency you can use WD40 but flush it out with contact cleaned afterwards.

Thanks Lenny, I will give that a try, much appreciated

Thanks Lenny, the dodgy switch was the problem.. a few heavy finger taps and the switch came back to life, I now have power again ;-)

thank you for the much appreciated assistance

Getting hot can indicate a knackered battery or cell, be careful, check again and switch off if overheating especially if an egg smell..v dangerous if so

Getting warm when charging is normal but it shouldn't get hot.
If it is getting hot it will either be a duff battery of a faulty charger, most likely the battery.
If the voltage on the battery when Charging is around 14.5v it will be the battery that is the problem.

If it is getting hot it is advisable to disconnect it immediately.
