I'm a newbie
Hello,

I am new to motorhoming so far not had many issue to deal with that I cannot figure or fix myself. However I have a issue that I can't seem to figure how to fix or what I should be looking for.

I currently have no power to my fridge/freezer nor the 12V socket that is to the side of the wall by the fridge.

My partner was using a hair dryer with a 12V converter to use a plug. And it seems to have blown/tripped/stopped working. I was under the assumption that seeing as the fridge doesn't work either that it was the main 30 fuse in the main fuse box under our bed. I've checked these and they all seem to be working. Our other 12V sockets by the TV still works.

Is there another fuse somewhere that I could check, or would this be something I would need to get someone to look at?

All help would be appreciated.

We have a Fiat Ducato - Chausson Welcome 85.

I cant beleive anyone would use an inverter for a hairdryer in a 12v socket if thats what happened, if a fuse didnt blow then the internals of the socket have probably melted.

You are aware that the fridge won’t work on 12v without the engine running aren’t you?

is the 12v socket by the fridge OEM or fitted by someone at some point later?

If it’s a CBE DS300 fuse box try fuse 10. It’s 3a and supplies the simulated D+ Signal to the fridge. This is what allows the fridge to turn on the main 12v supply when the engine is on.

I'm not familiar with a Chausson, but there should be a big fuse very near the leisure battery. If that blows, nothing should work. However the sockets that you say are working might have been wired directly from the leisure battery with their own fuse, as an addition by a previous owner, which would explain why they are still working.

Do the lights/water pump etc still work?
