How easy is it NOT having a oven/grill in your motothome

Yes, I thought it could not be to bad as so many now don't have ovens, I don't cook 3 Course meals, only reheat or cheese on toast and I have a remoska, so fairly sorted really, though I might get a microwave, not sure which one is best though due to power usage, I have bbq also

Never had an oven in last van, owned 7 years, latest van (had 5 years) has an oven fitted, very rarely use it.

It’s easy to remove - but harder to find a buyer if you later decide to change your van / motorhome.

But wrapped in plastic at the back of the shed means it can be reinstalled later.
Any alterations to the cooker slot will most probably be cosmetic and soon undone.

Had our van for 15 years and have never missed the oven !!

Had a full sized cooker in our last 3 vans but chose not to have one in our new van. Everything we eat can be cooked in a frying pan, wok or saucepan.
Life’s too short to spend all day over a hot stove.

We have a very small oven which is used as a cupboard ! :LOL:I’ve never used an oven and our first motorhome didn’t have one .

Contrary to many we use the oven for hot meals almost every day when we are on the road unlike the fitted microwave which we never use except to store bread and cakes.

Heating something in the oven is the exact opposite of standing over a hot stove all day. You put it in, you turn it on and forget about it, chill with a glass of wine and feet up tIl it’s ready then eat it. Same is true of Remoska.

We don't have a "proper" oven in the van although we do have a microwave which is rarely used.

I have a slow cooker and a tagine. Both can be used instead of an oven :) I also sometimes take a breadmaker away with me if I know we are going to have EHU but I am sure I could bake bread in the tagine if I needed to.

An oven in my opinion is very British . I have an oven in my house here but it has very little use unless baking

If you use hook up how about a Remoska grande works really well and is Teflon coated and very versatile (y)(y)(y)

I have a halogen oven for when on hookup - it's fairly small & is stashed away when not in use

Makes great toast & is good for pies as well

Our oven is only used as storage, we have a Remoska Grande, slow cooker, Cobb BBQ for the kinder weather, We don't even use the gas hob, have made a wooden worktop to cover stove and have two Induction Hobs, works for us.

Wouldn’t be without our oven. Full roast dinners, pizzas, basically anything we’d cook at home. We use a slow cooker too sometimes. Good food is a part of why we go away so don’t see why we’d compromise.
Your mileage may vary of course.

Had TecTowers in all our vans, grill is naff so never used. Oven's main use is par baked baguettes for breakfast, don't think we would miss an oven. Oven at home main use is warming plates.

Can't see the point of microwaves in a van heavy and power hungry don't want to kill my batteries, we don't do EHU.

We have an oven, but rarely use it. In the warm weather I am outside barbecuing. Our Weber BBQ can be used as an oven anyway. Even does frozen chips well.

Had 2 combo ovens in hire vehicles. Both fitted over the fridge freezer so too high. On both our owned M H s full hob grill , oven and microwave. We use all three. If Frying I do it on the camping bbq. Don’t want the frying smells in the vehicle.

I had a full sized oven in my Moho and it was only used as storage space.

We had an oven in our first van. Kept the van for 4 years and used the oven a couple of times for heating part-baked bread, and samosas.
The last 2 vans have had no oven, and I don't miss it one bit. The extra storage space is far more useful.
