Greetings All, I have a 2011 Hymer 654CL on Fiat Ducato Chassis. For some reason, the electric hook up stopped working. It is not the cable, it is not the fuse box, it is not the 230v inlet connection.
I disconnected the connection from the fuse box to the inlet connection, put on a plug which I connected to an extension lead.
I plugged the extension lead into the mains and hey presto I have mains power in the Motor home.
What is going on????

Only cable, fuse box or hookup inlet and HOOKUP POST can be at fault.
As it works fine with a 3 pin plug that only leaves the hookup post.
Try another post or another socket on the same post.

From your description it is either the inlet or the hookup lead. It appears you have checked the hookup lead. The inlet is not likely to give trouble possibly corrosion or bad connections.

Do you have an inverter? If so check the RCD next to it. Mine tripped and stopped everything on mains from working.

I plugged the extension lead into the mains and hey presto I have mains power in the Motor home.
Where exactly did you plug it into the mains? Was it the same place that you previously plugged in the hookup cable? A socket tester and a round blue plug to to 13A socket are very useful, and will tell you if the fault is in the hookup post, hookup cable or MH socket.
