I wouldn't have thought the fridge was on the same circuit as the lighting (unless it's just the fridge light) so maybe a wider problem ?
Have you got a multimeter to check voltage on the leisure battery, are you on ehu ?

Your lights will be working through the leisure battery even on EHU. They are working on 12V. Your fridge should be working on 240V from the EHU. The likely age of your van would suggest that you will have 3 way switch for the fridge. Is that set to mains power? And as said by Janine above it could be that there is insufficient "juice" from the leisure battery for the fridge to work even off gas. If fridge is set to 12V that could be draining the battery (though a decent electrical set up should prevent that?)

If lights keep cutting out that does suggest that the leisure battery is flat and the system is shutting it down to protect from further irreparable damage.

I believe 3 way fridges have two 12v supplies, one for the heater fed from the alternator and one for the light and ignighter / panel if there are lights or display, fed from the leisure battery

I'm afraid I can't help with the diagnosing because i just dont know.., but by chance we are headed to Dunbar (thurston) tomorrow. If you need anything bringing and it could save you leaving, let me know.
What a service MHF at its best!!!

Query is your mains charger to charge the leisure battery perhaps not working or just switched off?
