Just about to set off tomorrow to the North East for a few days when I noticed that the van’s fridge’s light was not working. fridge seems to be otherwise ok but no little blue light when opening up. It had flickered a few times over the years and a gentle ‘flick’ of the switch seemed to settle it. But no longer.

Is this a user replaceable part or am I at the mercy of a professional with fees to boot?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

TIA.

Is this an internal light or on the control panel?

I think it's part of the door lock and is a fairly easy swap out from posts on here. But.... the price of the part will make your eyes water..

I read the same thread, and just to let you know if you buy the whole units the left and right handed lights are the same light but with the mirco switch flipped over

I know this as I brought the cheaper one and then just flipped the micro switch over

I got up for a drink of milk in the middle of the night in our old Adria wobble-box days, when I opened the fridge door, the light came on, I had my drink and was heading back to bed when I remembered that the fridge didn't have a light in it !
I went back for another look and saw it was a packet of raw prawns that was bioluminescing enough to illuminate the fridge. They went straight in the bin the next morning !

If its the same as mine there is bugger all inside, a regulator, microswitch and a few LED's... Very expensive to replace.
Condensation is an issue with these, may be worth taking off and drying out before spending and cash.
Alternative, leave as it is for the catch element and buy a stick in light. (y)

That's the one, I just flipped the mirco switch to the other prongs to make it left to right

How do actually remove it I couldn’t see ,I was afraid of breaking something?

The front cover does clip off BUT it's been a while since i have done it I cant remember.. It was quite stiff..
Then 2 screws inside.
If I get chance to go back in the van i will check.
