Bessacarr e435
Hi, wondered if anyone can help, I've a 2007 bessacarr e435, baded on a fiat ducato, there is no 12v at all to the habitation, no 12v power to control panel, fridge, step or lights ect, I've tested all fuses and relays under bonnet and inside cab, all OK, at this point I'm stuck, there is only .4 of a volt to fuse board behind drivers seat so presume the problem is before that. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Paul

What's the voltage at the habitation battery?

Does it change when the engine is running?

Does it change when the van is plugged into the mains?

Main charger/power distribution unit turned on?

Have you checked the voltage at the leisure battery terminals? If that's OK, there should be a fuse near the leisure battery, on a wire going to the 12V distribution box and control panel. Is that still intact? Is there power to the fuse terminal in, and also power at the fuse terminal out?

Is this something that's suddenly happened after working OK? Or is the MH new to you, and it's never worked since you got it? Has it been standing without power for weeks?

Hi, new battery, 13+volts, engine doesn't charge leisure battery ,never has, mains makes no difference

Hi, I've checked the fuse and ok and it's a brand new battery 13+ volts, had van for years, wife said she heard a clicking noise coming from what sounded like the omnistep a couple of weeks ago, lowered and raised step and it stopped.

Ps, can't switch panel to van battery either

I know you’re saying 13v, but have you put a volt meter on to check actual voltage?

If lead based then 13v is high for a battery at rest, if lithium based, it’s low(ish) and certainly only around 50% SOC.

If you're getting 13V at the leisure battery fuse, and 0.4V at the fusebox, then the problem is on the wire connecting the fuse to the fusebox.

Also, if the leisure battery doesn't charge from the engine alternator while driving, or the mains when hooked up, does it charge from solar?

Check that the battery terminals are clean and tight. If O.K. run a temporary length of wire from the battery to the fuse board. Just straggle it the easiest way for now. It doesn't have to be thick wire as you are only checking the voltage at each end and not drawing a high current.
