I'm still looking for a replacement for our Burstner T660.
Everybody must know what my feeling are towards A Class but now they have introduced a really good looking model.

Unfortunately they have the longitudinal bed- How do people cope with this bed layout?
I'm not sure it could replace the convenience of a French bed.

Anyone bought one of these? - are they any good?

Hi

Firstly I don’t know your feelings about A class vans and secondly the Smove is a coachbuilt not an A class, they are nice vans but can’t comment wether it would suite you or not.

Martin

Travelworld are running a N&B event today till Sunday, testdrives, experts on hand to answer your questions.

One for sale in Wakefield, 2018.

IMHO All A class are ugly, over priced and a waste of space.
Could you cope with that bed type? Having to climb over the wife to go to the loo in the night.

Sleep on the edge, make her climb over you .......??

Well some ain’t cheap I will give you that, “ugly” is a personal choice, if there is wasted space you are certainly not looking at A class on IVECO with the repositioned dashboard.

All that aside we have a transverse bed out of preference and I can go all night without getting up ? but your opinions show that we are all different so the suggestion to go to Travelworld for a good look is a top one, other than that a trip to Dusseldorf would give you a big choice.

Martin

You can go to shows and have a good look around but my experience is that it just makes things worse.
Decide what you want and go for it, otherwise you’ll be looking forever.
Travelworld do have a good selection and some nice models to look at.
Personally I wouldn’t be buying in England but that’s my choice.

If you want ugly then the Smove is the ugliest IMHO!

As Martin says Smove is not an A Class just a low profile CB. Design wise it is more like an upmarket PVC, nice and smart but limited facilities.

I don't get your dislike of A Class vans on our second wouldn't have anything else now.
Not only do you get the additional space, they are easier to drive, the flat sides makes getting through tight spaces & reversing far easier.

From the other point of view if I get into a standard cab it feels claustrophobic and I live in fear of nutting myself on the screen as it's so close, really feel hemmed in & you get those awful bits sticking out where the body joines the cab.

Be brave buy a proper Motorhome - an A Class. :D

We looked at the N&B Smove but thought it was an over-priced coach build. Looks stylish on the outside (in my opinion) but dreadfully cheap looking and poorly thought out inside (again, in my opinion).

There's probably a reason why Travelworld currently have six brand new ones for sale with heavy discounts... and still too expensive. It'll be interesting to see whether N&B continue to build them.

You don’t have to climb over someone in the night in our A class. We had it built without the front drop down bed and have more space and cupboards instead, oh and less weight too. It is just a matter of taste but I don’t find something built round the front end of a van any prettier, just less practical for the reasons stated by Lenny HB

I really like the style of them, but find the layout poorly designed, the kitchen area is minimal and the toilet/shower quite small - although I think the hideaway toilet Is a good idea (until a few years down the line, when it gets stuck/leaks!)

Very happy with our low-profile coach-built so no thoughts of ever going for an A-Class, even if we found one we liked.

But
they are easier to drive, the flat sides makes getting through tight spaces & reversing far easier.
don't get how they are easier to drive? Flat sides just mean it's the same width the whole length (so more to scratch >:) ) and with mirrors set correctly shouldn't be any difference in reversing. That said I've never driven one but I've got years of experience in PCV's (buses/coaches) of all sizes and shapes.

A class. Over cab drop down bed, 3 small proper steps and in.
Either 2 singles or a huge king size plus and no climbing over each other if one needs to be up.

What if you can't climb a ladder into a drop down bed? Especially in the dark.

No - I mean the ones that look like a bus or ice cream van.

Wow a 7 metre ice cream van, now there’s a ninety nine worth queuing for.
I’m loving my bus with all its extra space and not a ladder in sight.

I think it may have sold, but there was a s/h Smove on Ebay a day or two ago I think, it was a 2016 from memory, a private sale and they were asking £110,000.

Yep - He emailed me the link and its still on there. It is fully loaded but the wrong layout, although it does seem to be top price.

Don't think I'd pay that sort of money for a coach built with an inferior payload. I would go for ugly :)
