Looks a bit out of place on the hardstanding but I guess it’s on its way to Morocco . I would not like to fall out of that door it must be 6 foot of the ground😂 . It is smart though.

They seem to be everywhere in The EU, mostly German owned, especially arround Spain, a bit overkill in my view as the most many will encounter is a bit of beach sand, or Morocco, but not Jungle for the most part.
Too expensive for most to ferry over to other countries, and seeing the vehicle entry sterilisation requirement to Australia, plus the delay and cost of it is also a deterrent these days for any vehicle..
But hats off to them if it makes them happy and they don't upset the locals.
The World Health Organisation would be happy to sign them up as volunteers in war torn countries distributing aid etc.;):giggle:

I’m always drawn to these when I see them in a site or Aire, personally I think they look cool although not sure how practical one would be for us.

I think that vehicle has popped up n here a few times. I've seen it before about 2 years ago in Leon, Spain.

See loads of them in Morocco…. All on campsites..😆😂

I think they look cool but 95% of the time highly impractical I've seen loads in Greece etc going the same place as every other camper. Very rarely see them going anywhere other vans can't reach .

But they look cool and for some looks are more important than practicality.

But then how often are you in places where others vans can't reach ?
Those places might be full of Overland trucks!

25 years ago we travelled in South America in an Overlander.
We would regularly come across others in the more remote places, down by a beach or in the Amazon somewhere, as well as on the normal campsites when we mixed with normal travellers.

Remember what they used to say about big vehicles. The bigger the car/bike/truck etc , the smaller the appendage.
(Applies to men only of course).

Well if they're on the same parkup for weeks and months on end they haven't the time to be anywhere. Can't be in 2 places at the one time.

Also half of them are 2 top heavy to be much good off road anyway. The amount I saw get stuck in the sand etc in Greece too was unreal. There's been a few on their sides in Spain etc. Half the time the driver can't drive them.

Amazon is a different thing as would be Australia etc.

But even here in Morocco most aren't In the desert more than a day or two out of the 2 or 3 months they're here.

There's 3 parked within a stones throw of me right now.

They're mainly jewellery on wheels. That is not a criticism particularly - many of our chosen types of transport are.

This particular aesthetic is indeed popular with many Germans. Then again, they have an automotive and motorhoming heritage like none and so it's unsurprising that there are many subgroups with special interests. In this case it will obviously be helped by their licence grandfathering provisions too.

This was parked next to us last year at the Nevis range
