Hi, what prices are people finding for the Newhaven Dieppe ferry with the senior discount? Seems to be coming in double the price it was 2 years ago. Intending to head over at the end of July beginning of August.

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
That's probably because you're looking at the start of the peak school holiday period so prices do rather rocket. Can you not go earlier before the bucket and spade rush?
I've been over on that crossing for two tours this year and although I don't keep any records of past fares I've not noticed much difference from the past few years.

Since 2016 - UK & Europe
We paid £103 one way in May, that was with the oldies discount, which we didn’t think was too bad. Just paid nearly £200 to come home from Caen to Portsmouth later this week. It is what it is and there’s no pockets in shrouds, we’d rather live off Baked Beans than miss out on a 90 day Europe trip.

Spring 2024
Out 5:00 p.m Monday 22/07/24 - £67
Back 18:30 27/07/24 - £115
Total - £182

Out 5:00 p.m Tuesday 27/08/24 - £84.60
Back 23:59 Tuesday 10/09/24 - £124.60
Total - £209.20

6 metre van with one passenger with 20% discount both booked 15/04/24 (Could have been anything under 7:00 metres at the same price)

In future I will book earlier (Only bought the van back end of March). I watched the price go up online over the weekend ending the traditional Easter fortnight but could not book by phone until the Monday morning (and so took a short 5 day break returning on the Saturday rather than the Sunday on my first outing abroad as I would have preferred but saved myself over £30.) - I am already "down South" for a few days before that 5 day break so it still made sense.

P.S. Just checked - I cannot book for next year yet!!

Seems to be coming in about £260 ISH.
Ah! Someone who has further to travel to get to Newhaven than me.!!! I am Bolton based. (Thought that showed on my profile but it does not. Shall have to change that! - Now sorted!)

That does not sound too bad assuming two of you in an A Class and booking only now.

Tbh this is our first ferry in years having routinely using Eurotunnel, and I can't believe it's not butter, sorry can't believe it's so cheap. Returning in a couple of days, £234 or so return! Rubbish food, at least it looked so, boring trip (didn't see one illegals rubber dinghy) but fairly comfortable out trip, return to come!

Slightly off topic what time do you board for a 2300 sailing.
All my booking confirmations have stated that Check-in closes one hour before sailing time.
Don't forget to pre-register your passport details on their website.
And can you wait in the carpark prior to sailing?
Loads of space. They seem to load all the vehicles in about 30 mins.

How did you get it that cheap Jock? Single crossing in early June <10m (standard Motorhome size booking) £154… we aren’t old enough for old biddies yet, but it would still be £123 ish!

Book early seems to be the way for cheaper prices.
Flights we have booked for this Christmas, booked 6th of January this year already one third more.
