Hi there I recently bought an old t4
Iv been told that I would need an electrical test certificate to use electric hook up on sites ! Is this a thing do I need one ? And if so how do I get one ? I though our mot would cover this ? Any ideas guys ?

I take it the person telling you porkies is an electrician and could do your test for a price? Total and utter ballcox unless you hire the vehicle out

Hi and welcome.

It maybe a good idea to get the mains system checked if you are unsure but I very much doubt you will be asked to produce any certificate. In fact never been asked in all the years of travelling

Welcome and no, you'll not need or be asked to provide one.

If you have any concerns over 240v input, have it tested at home for your own peace of mind.

Thankyou soooooo much guys ! I thought it mighnt be rubbish as it was a fella who knew everything about everything 🙄but thought I should ask someone who knows as I’m new to this so thanks so much for all your answers
Also is there any good rallies I should try this year ?

Agree with all of the other comments, complete bol***s, no certificate required.

However, as the van is new to you, if you haven't already, you could have it checked over by a motorhome service engineer to make sure that the mains and 12 volt electrics are OK. The engineer should also check that the LPG system is gas tight and that the water system is also good. They also check for damp. Plenty of engineers do the "Habitation Check" for around £100, might be worth the peace of mind for you if you feel it's necessary.

Hi Janie.
As said wouldn’t go wrong to get your electric system checked by an electrician, and also gas system checked,
For piece of mind. No certificate required unless you want one. Happy camping 🚐🍷

Hello Janie :welcome3: from Old Sodbury. :sun::sun::sun:

As I expect you have already realised Motorhome Fun is a lively place and some body is always out there to help with any motorhome related issues, well any issue really. It is well worth the joining fee and expect to meet lots of new friends if you decide to join a rally.

Just add a post on the rally thread saying that you would like to come. Clivefog will then let you know how to pay. There will be some others there for whom it will be first rally, and others who are old hands. I will be popping in.
Other rallies are listed under the blue Rallies tab at the top of the page but many are already booked up.
