Hello everyone.
Im hesitant to ask this question as I understand it's really wide and involved but.......
Looking to buy a used motorhome. Budget of £33000 ish which is all the savings. Looking to spend lots of time touring all year both here and abroad. 1/2 persons plus labrador. Comfort is important . (I cycled around the world a few years back and now looking for some luxury touring). I like German/French A class and had a 1984 Hymer many years ago for a short while. Good amount of space is essential as we like to laze about so I'm drawn to smaller 4 berth sizes. I reckon (at the moment) a rear lounge with drop down bed might be preferred but open to all suggestions. I like low profile above the "overcab" style. Reliability is another major consideration as I'm no expert in maintenance either inside or outside.
However, as a complete newbie to today's motorhomes, I dont really know what I'm looking for so suggestions on where to start would be wonderful. It seems post pandemic, mega price hikes have changed the playing field for honest folk wanting to get into this lifestyle!!!
If this question has already been exhausted in other areas, I'd appreciate a steer on where to look.

Many thanks

Derek

Hymer A class are a good starting point as you already have familiarity with them.
If you look in resources there is an excellent buyer guide but you need to be a full member to access. This costs 20 beer tokens but will pay dividends.
I think I'm correct in saying most motorhomes need ongoing maintenance and there are always things that need fixing. If you can learn a few diy basics especially around 12 volts electrics it would save a lot of expense trailing off to a repairer all the time.
Good luck in your search

Edit you need to tell us more about cycling around the world 👍

Looking at your location it may be worth a trip to the Perth area where there are quite a few dealers, you can check out the different layouts and specs to find the one closest to what you need. Best of luck.

As has been mentioned - the Niesmann Bischoff advertised on this site is a great buy - I would have bought it but the 3 litre engine and my insurance status 😱 prevented it.

Hi Derek, best of luck with your hunt, prices are coming down a little but not much. Your budget means you'll be able to get a great motorhome.

It might be a little older than you could have bought for the same price 3 years ago, But forget about that, that is the beauty of motorhomes, no matter how old it is, you get to go to the same places and have exactly the same amount of fun as a guy in a brand new van (y)

Welcome to the fun (y)

Thanks all. Still on the hunt. Spent a very informative afternoon at a dealers near Perth. No one really took me on to help look but I got access to all the stock to browse around and saw a few motorhomes. It was good to see the different layouts.
