New motorhome owners here (Fiat Ducato 98, Royale 590) and we're just finding our feet with everything.

One thing we can't find in the paperwork we were given is how to use this control panel.

Not shown in the pic is a little round voltage readout thing with 2 usb ports.

The first switch doesn't seem to do anything.

The second switch...hot water?

Third switch (with the pint of beer looking icon?) will turn on the electric in either position, up or down, but the voltage readout reads 12 and 11.5 or something similar depending whether it's up or down.

And I assume the water level is simply the water tank?

As I say, very newbie questions. I have searched but can't find anything about this particular panel.

The first switch denotes which battery you are charging either by engine or solar if you have it.

Possibly this is what they should do!

Left hand switch displays battery voltage,vehicle/habitation

Middle switch turns water pump on

Left hand switch shows water level fresh/waste tank.

When you push the 3rd switch down, the meter for the water level (directly above) will move and show you how much water you have

The first switch seems to do nothing though and doesn't even push into either position properly. The electrics in the van only work if the third switch is in either position.

Looks like someone did a bit of rewiring when the first switch failed!

Ah so is it basically choosing whether to run off the starter battery or leisure?

I'd have a word with this firm, maybe you can send them a photo and they can point you in the right direction.

This exact question was asked in 2009. papajohn and a few others answered it, just search threads "new to motorhomes battery charging" 👌
