Hymer B584 Classic
Good Evening all,
I like the way someone recently described how they’d been hiding in the shadows! I think that’s how I’ve been really - watching from afar, but I’m now breaking my duck and getting out there, and posting.
We’ve had a couple of Bongos for the last twenty years or so, but now we’ve said cheerio to the girls (👍🤞) we’ve got ourselves an old A Class and just been around Spain for three weeks and my eyes have been opened. This is the future!!
Can anyone advise how I might go about getting a replacement Isri seat for our Hymer B584, please?
And can I pick your brains as to whether I should bite the bullet and go refillable gas, and which system? Or is autogas being phased out?
And after going to Santander on their new boat last month, I want to do it again, and it’s asking if any of my friends or family have a club voyager account number? In the North East they say shy bairns get nowt, and I wonder if I might be so cheeky as to ask if anyone might share their number?
Apologies and thanks in advance and anticipation.
Phil.

A new seat will be expensive but you could try some decent seat covers and put some 25 mm thick memory foam on the old seat under the seat cover.

A previous owner removed it! I’m wondering as well if other seats might fit the four bolt holes, or just relish the extra space for the dog bed!
Thanks.

Lpg is not being phased out. Search on the forum for other threads about this. Personally a refillable system like gaslow is the way to go.

Hello Fellow Hymer Owner.

Gaslow or Gasit or even Alugas is the way to go.

Far too many scare stories about Autogas being phased out.

And my good friend Mikeco beat me to it with his code !

Thanks. I read Morrisons has been bought out and is removing the pumps in favour of EV charging?

Just a bit of banter with fellow Brittany Voyage club members who are half asleep and missed out on the £10 credit given out whenever a members code is used.
Mikeco. You speak with forked tongue.

Emmet (Sic) is a Funster who so much quicker on the finger than that Yellowbelly, that he has filled up his statch of £10 credits and has been put on hold from dishing out some more.

Does it pay to join then?
You need to look at the benefits of being a member which have changed quite a bit and are not as good since some of us joined a few years ago, you will find them on Brittany Ferries website

I will be selling an almost new Gaslow setup in the next 2 weeks, it is only 3 months old and been used to cook one meal so the bottles are full. ;)

What do you want regarding Isri , are you meaning previous owner removed single rear seat.
I your B584 has the fixed table like our 2001 version had,we had ours cut so it swings down.
we also got fed up with knocking our ankle on the front chair swivel lever, so I cut it off and re fixed pointing downward

Thanks Manic.
Yes, the seat has been completely removed.
We’ve now got the hinged table and I’m just considering reinstating the seat.

I’d read that some people might carry a calor for emergencies, but are they interchangeable, and if the two, say gaslow, bottles are connected, can you take one off to put the calor bottle on?
If you have a gaslow system you just fill up the bottle from the lpg pump. We have two bottles and fill up via an outside filler cap, like you do for diesel. Doesn’t have to be empty before filling, so fill when you see an lpg pump. Several web sites/apps to help you find them. Just as you would your diesel. We have a local garage with lpg but our last fill was whilst on holiday in Scotland. You say you will be going to Europe, well people say lpg is very easy to get over there., especially if you have an external fill point rather than a refillable cylinder where you fill direct to the cylinder.

Thanks for that. I think I’ll be going down that route. Is it possible to remove one cylinder and put on a calor, do you know?

You can install a gaslow system with just one cylinder for filling with lpg. You can then put in a calor cylinder, but you would need different connectors.

Welcome from Liverpool
Easier to get lpg than calor cylinders around here and lpg is cheaper.
