We've taken the plunge and hired a Swift Edge 464 in March, and I have a question about windscreen blinds.

As far as I can see, there are no blinds on the windscreen/cab, and I'm wondering what people do about privacy/light.

I've seen external covers for windscreens but don't want to spend too much as it's a hire van. Just wondered what people do if they don't have blinds fitted.

Sorry if it's a silly question, but any help or advice gratefully received :)

If it really does not have blinds then a blanket draped from the roof behind the front seats.

Welcome and enjoy your hire.

It may well have concertina blinds that fold back into the windscreen "A" posts on each side and into the rear casing of the cab doors.

Yeah, I'd assumed that it did, but when looking at the specification, they seem to be an option but not standard.

Value vans normally come with internal thermal screens that attach to the screen with suction cups, not great but does the job. I would check with hire company that they are supplying internal or external screens.

As fitted blinds are very expensive and easy to damage I expect the hire company remove any blinds (if fitted) and supply thermal screens that are difficult to damage and easy to replace .

Thanks everyone. Just paid my subscription and can now see and answer the posts. Looks like I'll have to ask the hire company, but as I've already inundated them with a lot of excited questions, I might just wait a few weeks 🙂

Welcome onboard Andrew, there's a wealth of knowledge and experience on this forum and bear in mind that there is no such find as a daft or stupid question to ask as we have been newbies at some point. (y)
Thank you 😊
