We are picking up our first motorhome next week, an Auto-Trail Expedition C72.

Currently it has a factory fitted cat 1 Thatcham approved immobiliser - insurance company are fine with that.

It has a retrofitted Gemini alarm (cat 1) - insurance company are fine with that.

I'm buying an Armalite Resolute lock for the steering wheel and footbrake - insurance company are giving me a 5% discount for that.

It will be stored at a non-CASSOA storage facility, with high fencing, CCTV, 24hr locked gates, no tailgating policy, and a bloody big dog - insurance company are fine with that.

After previous advice on here, I am considering turning the driver's seat and locking with a motorcycle lock.

I was considering a tracker, but given that it only reduces the insurance premium by £19, I'm not so sure the initial layout and then the subscription justifies it, particularly with the other features and the storage facility. For the first year we're sticking to the UK, but will consider it again once we think about venturing into Europe.

Any thoughts?

As above , but swap the Steering Wheel Lock for a Disklock ,I also have the Smart Tracker S5 Plus , just piece of mind but can always check the Cab Battery Voltage on it checking my Batt Master is doing it's Job 🫰👍

a lot of us have foregone out original alarm system and had a vanbitz alarm and tracker fitted, however you seem to be happy with what you have, so i would be looking to add more visual deterrents - vanbitz have blue flashing led's externally (front, side and rear) which act a pretty good visual deterrents in my opinion, so perhaps adding something similar will deter all but the most determined from even considering attempting to take your motorhome?

a clutch claw is also a decent visual deterrent, though not infallible, if might slow them down or encourage them to look elsewhere.

you can only do what you can do and you seem to have done more than most, so get out and enjoy it, they will find it very difficult to steal it if youre sat in it !!
