New wheels and a/t tyres from Elite wheels

I have just checked out the load rating for The Davanti AT tyres, they are quoted by Elite Tyres (Reading) as max of 1030KG Per Tyre, wheels are higher rated at 1350kg.(y)
Our back axel is rated at 2250kg, so would need a higher load rating of 121 ideally, cant find a Davanti Tyre with a 121 rating, but still searching.

Are you looking at the LT version of the tyre? Rating on the tyre wall of mine is LT115/112. I think I'm correct that the 115 rating is for single axle use and 1215kg per tyre which gives a total axle loading of 2430kg. The lower 112 rating is for twin rear wheel configuration.

I was looking at their webpage advert for Transit van wheels & Tyres, with Davanti AT Tyres on the new rims, they dont quote a load rating as such but mention a max KG rating per tyre which is unusual. maybe having a wider 225, plus higher sidewall of 70 plus being on a 16" wheel, it will have a higher load weight?
See below. Looking harder, when you open up the page they mention 1030gs Max which I think it could be a miss print on their part, which might be good news.(y)

From their page the tyres are rated 1215 for the Ducato/Peugeot/Boxer

I looked at these tyres as I quite fancied a set however to get the load rating we need I would have to go from 225 75 16 to 235 85 16 which I think will be to close to wheel arches for comfort 🤔 although I have not measured up properly yet😊

My experience of Elite is that they are very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Their premises is nothing like any of the tyre fitters around here including the multi-nationals. I had loads of questions and they answered them all over the phone.
Give them a call.

Thanks guys that's the next set of tyres for the van sorted, 3 Tyres to choose from, so those that are overly concerned of road noise from the AT type, can if they wish go for the DX440, which I have to say looks very similar to the Michelin tread pattern.

Speve what load rating are you after?
I just looked up the load rating index and a 115 tyre is rated at 1215kgs which will do the job on a 2250kg rear axel.
Maybe you would feel happier with a 118 or 121 rated tyre? 121 is rated at 1450kgs so maybe a bit OTT, but would that have much firmer side wall construction and end up like driving the Michelin camper tyres?

Thanks Les my rear axle rated at 2500 kg and front 2300 kg at the moment I have 116 load rated tyres which is right on the mark however when loaded for along trip I’m quite close to max and want a little leeway as I also tow a car trailer for safety I do have full air suspension so that helps a bit 😊

Mine is 3500kg on 16 inch wheels. Currently running the Davanti AT's at 50psi front and 55 psi rear. Might increase both slightly by 2psi increments to see how they feel.

Davanti DX440 in mine, only had a few hundred miles but seem very good.

Is your van 3500kgs? If so, what tyre pressures are your running at with the new wheels and tyres?
Sapper sorry no answer for that, They started off as per manufacturer but I like em softer , will be checking them over next couple days..,

Thanks for that, just to clarify, you had 15" wheels originally, did you just get a standard 16" steel wheel and standard tyre to fit into the spare cradle?

Pete
Yep a crappy one

Thanks, Yes I will when needed, I am hoping that when I do, I will get the 10% discount when I mention The Girls on Camper Vibe, or John & Mandy with his "Bad Ass Wheels Tyres" which they bought from them, so fingers crossed.🤞

As long as you're happy it's irrelevant what people think 🤔 better than the oe wheels and tyres for sure.

Got an update if anyones interested.
Did a 1000 mile trip to Pyrenees.
The tyres perfomed beautifully in rain and one of the big bonuses was a raise in my confidence for going off the tarmac onto gravel , grass and even sand.
No extra noise at all.
Hit heavy rain in mountains, after a hot spell and the tyres stuck like glue, though I drive like Miss Daisys driver.
Heres a photo of my pitch and my neighbours pitch in France somewhere.
I pulled straight on to the grass with no problem , he was sliding about like a ploughing match on his ‘Camper ‘ tyres.
Pleased with the Davanti’s so far.
The white writing has faded quite a lot is my only observation.
Normal ‘camper’ tyres

Update
The white lettering hasnt faded, it was just dirty😬, bit of elbow grease and good as new

uzsnowdrop interesting update. We've been away for the last 6 weeks and have covered nearly 1500 miles of road from 'whites' to motorways. Really pleased with the Terratoura's performance in all weather conditions and they have managed slippery grass sites with no drama.

Have settled on 54psi front and 58psi rears, fully loaded. Ride is so much better than the Conti Campers and road noise is as quiet if not quieter.

Really good choice and excellent value for money.

Think I’m about the same psi, with semi air you can almost imagine you are driving a car,😁
Very pleased with them, yesterday hit a pothole that I’d forgotten about ( its been there for ages) and although there was a thud I straight away thought of the bone shattering drama that there would have been in my old camper tyres.
If you have white letters they cleaned up lovely with a tiny bit of t cut on fingertip rag.
Service at Elite was ,,well, elite and the bonus is they look great. They ate the wet grass pitches in France like you say..

Just wondering if there are any further updates on the Devantis. How are they wearing? The time for some new tyres is approaching for us and I've been reading this with interest. I'm not sure if the 115 load rating will be adequate tough as we've up plated to 4250kg and have 116 tyres at present, which were considered in the up-plating.

They’ve been great, one long trip to Spain through wet France performed great, so so much better than the previous tyres which tbf were Van tyres.
Best bet is to speak to Elite Wheels Reading re the loads, that sounds a bit technical. You can park there overnight.
They are less knobbly than bfgs ( nothing wrong with them ) but definitely cheaper.
Biggest difference is grip, I dont give a hoot about wet grass any more!
My mate chewed up a grass pitch in France on his camper tyres, I sedately drove off and left him to it before there was a terrible international incident…

Ps, never been sure about the terra tourer name tho

Ive been happy with mine, no undue wear, grip still good. Nothing bad to report
