Picked up the 2008 Esterel we have bought yesterday from the dealership in Limoges. They have been very good to deal with and having inspected the van with their technician yesterday, they have asked us to report any snagging points that arise.

We have a couple of things to go back to them about, but I thought I'd put those up here in the first instance to see if there is something obvious I am missing.

1. They have replaced the pistons of the drop down bed, as it was difficult to maneuver. They tried two different pressures 200 and 1200 before settling on 800. Although the bed seems to drop down okay, it won't stay in place and rises about a foot. I can only think that hydraulic pressure still isn't correct ?

2. Driving back yesterday, there was no cabin heat. The heater / climate controls / fan didn't respond at all. Just cold air through the vents. Adjusting the temp dial didn't do anything. It's a Merc TEMPMATIX air con system.

I can post some photos later.

Many thanks

Update - I think the bed will be okay. I have just jumped on and off it and it stays in place.

No joy with the cabin heat yet though :xsad:

I would leave the gas struts as is if you put bedding etc on you will find it stays down I have just changed or gas strut on our van from 1700nm to 2200nm you now have to push the bed down like you but it takes one hand to push back up.

I assume you meant 2018 looking at the pictures posted last night? Have a look under the bonnet where the pipes enter through the bulkhead for a valve. Usually these days there is a valve that is controlled through the air con system if you have it?

No, it is a 2008 gem. That shape was offered in different lengths and layouts for a few years until Esterel were bought by Rapido. Just off out, but I will have a look under the bonnet later. I have also found the plan of the main fuse board online, so I now know which fuse might have blown. I'm going to pick up a mixed bag of spare ones when I'm out.
