For my 4000kg Ducato MH I need to replace front tyres before winter.
My principal wish is for better traction on wet grass and steep inclines.
Present front tyres are 225/75 R16CP Michelins.
And what do I need to know about 3 peaks for European travel?

We replaced our Michelin with Maxxis AS/AL2 all season three peak marked last April, significant reduction in noise and improvement in ride. It did help that the local Maxxis stockist is 100 yards away and we've been using them for forty years👍

& for saftey the back tyres go on the front & the new ones go on the back
On the assumption that his back tyres are currently the same as on the front,
that would mean either,
changing all four tyres, or being put in exactly the same position as currently,
without the benefit of better grip.
Skint if you do, damned if you don't.
