New Triumph Coming.

Dont they look great, I hear they are offering a new Tiger 400 in the spring, that sounds interesting to me.

We saw a few ‘interesting’ components in the R&D department at the factory, including a number of different frames that were obviously for this new 398cc single cylinder engine. I wouldn’t rule that out.

BTW the four person ‘Full Works’ personalised factory tour is very good value for money - if you’re lucky you may even get the chance to sit on the famous Steve McQueen ‘Great Escape’ bike!

Ooh nice, I imagine that would be a very interesting day. I may buy a visit for the wife for her birthday (y)

It was, but we waited nearly six months from buying our ticket to having a bookable slot available, so get in early.

I never realised how worldwide the Triumph corporate network is, so have no worries about this machine being a product of their Indian collaborators - the R&D and quality control in the organisation is top notch.

My son - a Triumph engineer - gave me the heads up on some new products more suitable for my needs coming soon when I spoke to him a few months ago.
I had informed him that I was struggling a bit with the weights on the ones I had my eye on.

(He did not go into model specifics as it was hush-hush and he knows I can’t control my mouth.)

Price just announced at £4995, being light and nimble may appeal to older riders wanting to downsize to be able to carry on riding, I certainly love my Trident 660 for this reason.

The road scrambler isn’t as nice as the Ducati Sled or Icon but this Triumph is really cool. Can’t wait to see it in action next year. (Even if it does look like a KTM engine and Yamaha frame :giggle: )

Ah, now that looks more purposeful, but I'm just not seeing the 20 odd years of development since I had my 2003 TTRe 600, which was old and heavy [ 160kg] then 🤷‍♂️
Mike.

A bit smaller than my Thunderbird 900, but if I start to struggle with the weight I’d be interested.

John.

A lot of people appear to agree with you!

Went into Bridge Motorcycles in Exeter earlier today and they had a couple of examples on the showroom floor - only for a week as they’re touring the dealerships pending the new year release date. Salesman tells me they have sold everything from their first two allocations, so now taking orders for June delivery! They might be in with the chance of further 36 bikes in the interim if the production ramps up enough. Demonstrators available sometime in January:

Very nice looking machines in the metal and some good Triumph styling cues as well - although the latest Bonneville T120 with the retro paint jobs is the bizz.

My OH was keeping an eye on those, he wanted to get back on a bike, however because of health issues he has accepted that his riding days are over and has bought a Mazda MX5 instead.
