Auto-trail
Morning all.

We're just swapping our Bailey caravan for a 2013 Autotrail Frontier Mohawk (I love the silly names caravans and vans get). We're reenactors who drag loads of kit around the country so the garage was a big selling point for us. It's the same size as our caravan although I'm not looking forward to getting it into the storage plot.
It's getting all the pre-handover stuff conducted over the next few weeks. In the meantime my wife is looking at a firmer mattress topper (first thing she did was to try the bed).
Anyone got any bright ideas about securing stuff in the huge garage? We'll have wooden tables in there, some wooden boxes, tents and poles and so on but I didn't check if there were attachment points for nets or straps. I also saw someone mention more secure locks on their garage - anyone advise on those please?

I know that most garages are massive, but when loading it, remember that every kilo of weight in your garage will add more than a kilos weight to your rear axle. So a weighbridge is a good idea to see how much you have to play with.

You likely will have tie down points. Most people don't worry too much about tieing things down in their garage as everything is jammed in and the kitchen sink makes sure nothing can move (y)

Meanwhile, welcome to the fun (y)

Cheers. Good point on the lever that the garage > axle distance will apply. Apparently its a 150Kg limit on the garage. I don't see it being filled completely up and some stuff we may put inside just for transport purposes and load distribution.

Hi & welcome! :hi: Have a look at here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/events/ & here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/events/?layout=grid&page=2 for some Fun rallies & campsite meets with fellow friendly Funsters (y)
We started again when we switched from caravanning to motorhoming - now carry a lot less but more important that what we have is the best product for the job - still fettling years later & travel much lighter now! EDIT just spotted what you do - that will be a lot of bulky kit!
Have a look at Duvalay https://www.duvalay.co.uk/ for toppers - expensive but good.
These https://www.agentfiamma.co.uk/fiamma-safe-door-frame-white.html are the sorts of additional locks that may have been discussed for garage doors.
