Hi all, advice please.
Previous owner fitted a pair of new wet batteries just before the sale but unfortunately there was a bit of a drain on them while in storage they had dropped to 4.7v so I need to replace them.
I would like to be able to manage off grid for about 5 days or so.
What I would like to know is the cost of

1) 120 amp ish lithium and upgraded charging / B2B control and anything else required.

2) 2 x 100amp agm batteries, will these just be a drop in replacement for the duff wet ones

3) 2 x 100amp wet batteries, Is there anything that can be added to these to increase efficiency/ longevity.

I will be adding 300ish Watts of solar at the same time as the batteries.

All this roof and no solar (criminal)

I thank you in anticipation
Cheers Colin

Lithium plus b2b around £800-1000 if you can fit it all yourself.

Agms I don't know about.

2 X lead acid about £200

We currently run 180watts solar and 3x Numax wet acid (£280 for 3 but can't find receipt) 105ah batteries. Victron MPPT controller.

Batteries usually full by 1pm on sunny days (not winter) and that is lights, radio, Alexa, roof vent fans, TV via inverter and occasional 20-30 minute of 500 watt microwave with a soft start.

We have two Exide Gels at 80amp each with 300watts of panels (120+180) managed through a Votronic MPPT350 controller.
Batteries back up to full charge by lunch time in bright weather.

We have 190 Ah of AGM with 280w of solar via a Votronic MPPT duo 350. This set up runs a 90l compressor fridge indefinitely and 2 X Bosch e-bike chargers via a 600w inverter without problems. Just done 30 nights in North Scotland/Orkney completely off grid, with rubbish weather for the time of year and never saw the batteries below 80%. Typically siting at 90%....

When the motorhome is in storage, is there enough light for solar to work? That's the easiest solution to avoid a repeat of that problem.

Lithium would be the best choice but very expensive.

If you go for lead replacements, Gel would be my favourite but I don't think your charger is suitable.
Standard lead acids would do the job easily especially with 300 Watts of solar.
AGM's about the worst choice they are not very good as leisure batteries.

Renogy are doing a 100ah lithium now with Bluetooth monitoring for 399, there are cheaper on places like bangood etc but Renogy have experience

Thanks for all the help, I have ordered two Numax 105amp lead acid batteries from Tayna for now as we will be off to Devon next week on a test run.
Now looking for the solar panels and there seems to a big difference in price for what looks like the same panel,
120w for £80 upto £150
Can anybody recommend a good panel for a fair price.
Also if in the future we wanted to upgrade the batteries to 200amp lithium what controller would you recommend.

Cheers Colin

I have used Ecoworthy panels (don't know where based but been around on Amazon for at least 4 years.)
Bimble Solar and Sunshine Solar and Victron panels - all branded and seem to be good quality.
