New Spanish rules about pets

I see from the above it is now an offence to leave your pet unattended outside shops etc. Do you think that it is still ok to leave them in the motorhome?

Oh blimey, that's a difficult one. Leaving in a car is a no no, as far as I'm aware. Richard gus-lopez has a dog, he might know more.

We certainly leave our 2 in, with caveats: the van is parked in shade, we'll be away <4hrs and we have the power to drive the several fans we use for circulation. We also have a min/max thermometer so we know how warm, or cold, it has been in our absence.

I leave Alf in the van,He can move between the floor under the pedals ,which he prefers , to the drivers seat , second choice, or in to the back.
This is usually far cooler due to the insulation & the Maxxfan is always on; double lined curtains behind the driiver/passenger seats so that alone cuts the temperature right down . It is pleasant even on exceptionally hot days plus he has water when he wants in anti spill dish. When we are travelling or away he much prefers to be left in the van,where he also has his bean bag, than to be left in a strange house.

Not an answer to "should you" but did I not read somewhere that the new spanish rules said you couldnt leave them in any motor vehicle?

The rules are so complicated, but 99.9% will never be enforced. You cant leave your dog for 24 hrs alone. That one makes sense. Unless you use them for hunting, then nobody cares and 3 days is fine. Better still, if it kills bulls, it will probably get a medal and be made mayor and can do whatever it likes.

You cant leave your unsterilized dog in your garden or balcony ever .. not even 2 minutes - in case it jumps out and fornicates with all the other supposedly sterilised dogs that shouldn't be in the street by themselves anyway. And the only place you can now buy a dog is from a puppy farm, because we all know how well some of those treat dogs.

our dog snores away for hours in the MH. Top vents open. When we come back, even days of 35 deg, its cooler than anywhere else we could leave it.
