Greetings Funsters

I have an alert on the HM Government Foreign Office travel advice for Spain. It has a lot of very useful information and guidance. It is this advice that insurance companies base their cover and claims on, so it is worth a read. This has the latest on Low Emission Zones. Love it or hate it, they are here.

When I eventually found the LEZ advice (long way down "safety & security" section) it said "some places have permanent ones and some have temporary restrictions. You need to check" owtte. If that is what passes for Government help I hope I never need anything more desperate.

I briefly perused this topic over the weekend, from what I gleaned it seemed to me that the Spanish accept the French "Crit air "
standards. So if you have a Euro 6 rating, it carries across to them. The only fly in the ointment I could see was the windscreen sticker was to be displayed in the right hand bottom of the screen, kerb side for Europe. Others may well be more acquainted with chapter and verse on the topic.

yes they all do.French, German ,Spanish :rolleyes:I put all mine on a seperate perspex piece I cut so they are one above the other. Saves having to buy new ones when the windscreen , which has multiple chips, has to be replaced.

Spain - so far - can’t deal with foreign-registered vehicles, but will accept other countries’ stickers. The where and when is constantly evolving everywhere. Lower right of screen seems constant in Europe

As we will be going to Seville, after our Portuguese sojourn, I was a bit concerned about this information after reading it in the Daily Express. This thread has helped to ease my mind; happy in the knowledge that, should I encounter one of these zones on my travels, I am displaying my Crit Air sticker :whew:.

Qlanning on a few weeks in Spain over the winter. Mainly Costa Brava. Do I need to apply for a French Critair even though using the ferry service?
Thanks

A guy who I know has just got his Crit air. He’s put it where the old Uk tax disc used to go. He’s a bit of a know it all so I didn’t feel like telling him that it should be the other side. 🤭
Maybe I will later.

Thanks for the heads up with the Spanish details.

If you are going on the long ferry to Spain, no. But for the cost of one they are worth getting.

The instructions accompanying the crit’air sticker do say that it has to be affixed on the right hand side of the windscreen
said person obviously can’t read

Don’t need French sticker if you’re not driving into French cities with LEZs - HOWEVER - if you have a French sticker (in bottom right of windscreen) then you are safe from new Emmission Zones that develop in Spain. Spain can’t create a sticker for foreign-reg vehicles, but will recognise foreign stickers (which UK doesn’t have).
