Citroën have announced a new retro Type H caminonette based on the modern Citroën Jumpy van. It is called the Type H 70e which is the 70th anniversary. They plan to make 500 vehicles and some will be camping cars like this PVC and the modular design with a modern habitation unit mounted on a flat bed chassis.

This is the original type H from the 1940's:

It looks better than the Indian old Merc' rip-off in my eyes and will probably be more reliable :D

Move with the times people, move with the times

The bonnet looks like a commercial waste bin, and while we’re at it I’m not keen on all this flat Matt paint jobs either ..... makes me want to get the T-cut on them....:D2

@Northernraider you do have a point there, however I still like the way that the old and new can be 'blended' into one :D

I didn't really like the Mini at first, then it grew on me. Same for the 500. And as for the Beetle ..................... I bought one! (well I had to really, seeing as how my first car was a '67 1500)

I reckon it will become a keeper :)

Unfortunately it resembles a brown plastic bodykit stuck onto a Jumper in a different colour.

2/10 from me.

Chere Monsieur Citroen

You need to try harder. Much harder.

Cordialement,

Speedy

Its gonna be a s*d to clean!

My first visit to France (motorbike in the early '80's) we passed a funeral. The hearse was a black "corrugated" Citroen van with windows. They opened the back doors and the coffin was slid under the bench seat along the length of the van, then the mourners climbed in and sat on top of it !

Hi @jockaneezer
I would like a mate to strap my coffin (In 100yrs time) onto the back of an Artic unit, get a Dr Diesel to bypass the engine limiter and boost the power so a Black plume of smoke will rise 6 ft into the air from the Eminox, then my last trip to be a BLAST!! up a nearby motorway and on to the Crem.....Sorted. Or.. A trip in one of those OLD Citreon vans as you said, proper.
Tea Bag..."Coming through!!":ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You've got to admit the new one is an improvement on the originals
Like hell it is ...those are iconic classics
The new one is an abomination

Even if they had at least made an attempt to blend the high top in it may have been a little better but as it is its stinking
But some dafties will pay the ridiculous extra cost to get one ....out of the 500 ..it being a Citroen about 20% will survive to be worth half their value in 20 years
Leaving another embarrassing design to our descendants:p
