New personal details for Spain

Has anyone been asked for a whole raft of personal details when booking sites/accommodation in Spain?
As per Spains new travel requirements

No different here at Imperium, they looked at the passports 5 years ago and not bothered since.

When checking in recently at a hotel in mainland Spain they did take a copy of our passports & our mobile phone numbers as "this is now a legal requirement for all accommodations in Spain to collect and report guest passport details to local authorities."
Didn't have to give any extra details when booking with Easyjet Holidays but would think if booking direct with accommodation then would expect to at the point of booking. Campsites bookings may fall into a grey area with some doing it as good practise & others not bothering.

We have all been aware of it for some time.
It's liable that these rules will be rolled out across much of the EU over the next few years.

Like all new rules it will take time to bed in, but in the long term I suspect the hoteliers/campsite owners/Furnished Holiday Lets etc will want the data themselves, as one day someone will arrive, wreck the joint and leave without paying.
At which point the local Police will say you only have yourself to blame for not having all the details.

In addition the local tax authorities want all the details, as they want to know about income.
(This is already in effect in the UK from 1st April 25 for furnished holiday lets and hotels)

These rules are simply back to the way it used to be until the 1970's, so they are not so much 'new' rules, more a reinstatement of the old rules.
