“White van man“on the approach to London decided to almost knock off my drivers side mirror. Best place to get a new one from? Thanks in advance

You don’t have a motorhome shown in your profile , you might need to give a few more clues to get better help 🤔👍

Check out Mirrorman on ebay they are probably the cheapest place to get a replacement.

HTH.

If you buy a non OEM mirror make sure that if your one has temperature senor in it make sure the replacement has one.
May sound strange but if you fit the wrong mirror you nay get problems with the DPF.

For the housing with mirror: carthago
For the mirror only: mirrorman

colyboy are you talking about a Fiat Ducato base vehicle? If so a genuine Fiat-branded replacement mirror is likely to be seriously expensive!

How much damage was done? Is it just the casing which is smashed and one or both of the mirrors? If so, check the electric mirror adjustments and the inbuilt side light are working. If so, you can get third-party replacement plastic casing parts and a mirror replacement which pops into the housing. Don’t ask how I know……mine was the passenger side (which has the DAB aerial inside and as Lenny HB mentioned above the Driver’s side has the essential ambient temperature sensor) and I got all the necessary bits needed (long-arm housing and replacement lower mirror) from https://www.cardoormirrors.com/ .Took me about 90 mins to remove fragments of original parts and fit replacements. Total cost £48 incl P&P. Looks like new.

Many thanks everybody for your help and suggestions vey much appreciated . Still away for one more night, off to see Bridgwater carnival tonight. On Monday I have an appointment with my local garage , garage who I can trust to give me an HONEST estimate.

Are you legally allowed to drive it without a door mirror? Can you see through yours on a rear view mirror?

I guess a bit like MOT’s you can go home or to a garage , but it must be difficult ti drive with no rear vision

Hi, replaced my drivers mirror last year after a lhd motorhome pulled out to check his oncoming view! He was following his mate in another motorhome.....bang.
Bought replacemeng off ebay cheap. I had to change bulb to 10 watt as the 5 watt wasn't recognised by my ecu and was working but flashing too fast. Now the arm is at a different angle to the original as this arm is set for lhd. No problem but i have to lean forwards to see. Should have bought from the likes of mirrorman as already mentioned.
northenraider asked about it on his blog when i was helping him, you can see the photos he posted.
