burstner solano t615
Hi there,
Hopefully, someone here can help. I have two lead acid batteries in my 2008 Burstner motorhome and I would like to move to two Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries from Renogy, but I am concerned that the re-charging for the motorhome when I am driving will not be compatible with the new batteries. Does anyone know if that will be an issue?

I have upgraded the solar panels & controller to the latest Renogy kit, but I don't really know how the vehicle charges the leisure batteries if not sure if that is going to cause an issue.

Cheers

Your van will have a standard split charge relay in the Elektroblock, you will need to fit a B2B and disable the split charge relay (easy to do with a EBL).
Also you need to make sure your Solar controller is compatible with Lithium and if you use EHU best to fit another mains charger that is compatible.

So I have a Rover Li 40 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller, so are you saying I need one of these? DCC50S 12V 50A DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT

Watching as pondering moving mine up to fogstar lithium soon.
2005 burstner with Victron Mppt 100/30 smart controller and blue solar charge controller. 400w solar and 3 110 acid leisure batteries
Am waiting due to battling Dometic re a faulty compressor fridge.

Not the best option a if it detects solar it halfs the charge rate, fitting a Votronic B2B would be a better option.

Didn’t answer the second part of your question:
It‘s not fan cooled because they claim to have achieved a 98% efficiency thereby generating much less heat.
It would appear that the 30A generated much more heat than the 50A will.
