Am I missing something here?
Ignoring taxes, etc, I'm just try to understand.
Is this an advert for an Iveco/Fiat chassis motorhome for £32-50k?
Alibaba is a Chinese commercail "Amazon" site so not an obvious scam site.
There are many other adverts for shells to be fitted chassis and complete vehicles etc.

Its Chinese. If you got one you would like it but then you would feel like you needed another 2 hours later.
@32k I could afford 3.
But seriously looking at the mutliple adverts am I /we missing something?

Import duty, VAT, type approval, emissions control, delivery costs, warranty issues?
As per question "Ignoring taxes, etc, I'm just try to understand." is this a full motorhome for sale?
But as you ingnored the question, duty & VAT on £32k 35% or so, delivery £4k
As per question it's an Iveco or Fiat so what type approval, emissions and warranty issue do you foresee?

Afaik. Vehicles sold outside the EU do not get a certificate of conformity so, even though they are obviously the same as the EU version, you have to get them certified.

Would that be only for resale as a dealer as as a self build couldnt you have the best of both worlds. Cheap camper of hypothetically higher end build compared to most peoples self build standard

Doesn't matter whether resale or not. I think you need the type approval and certificate of conformity to import a vehicle to the UK. It's easy from the EU. If no certificate you need an inspection and certification.
And Maxus vans are sold in UK..
I might be wrong but I don't think that makes much difference. We tried to import out T5 campervan to New Zealand. There were loads over there. Still needed inspection and testing before be imported.

It won't be impossible, it's just that it eats into the potential saving. On top of the cost of shipping and VAT. Import duty etc.

And goodness knows what you would do with it if you had serious issues. You couldn't really reject it.

One of my biker chums who imports blingy stuff from China and India ( I call it 'Trendy Tat') bought a new Royal Enfield m/bike (made in India) direct from a distributor in India for around half the cost of the same model bought from a U.K. distributor. He couldn't get a C of C so couldn't register it. He dismantled it and sold it as spares.

Not sure what your chums issue was, C of C is provided by the manufacturer as part to sale, not post purchase application and for inter EU, that we are no longer part of.

A certificate of conformity (CoC) is a paper document issued by the manufacturer of a vehicle. Its purpose is to ensure the free movement of goods between EU countries. It can also help when importing and registering a vehicle in a non-EU country such as the UK.
The certificate must be provided free of charge to the buyer of a new vehicle when the vehicle is delivered. There is a legal requirement for the supplying dealer to do this.
The document contains information about the vehicle and certifies that it has been manufactured in conformity with type approval standards.
This means that the vehicle complies with the relevant safety and environmental regulations and can be registered.

Purchased outside EU CofC not applicable.

Not saying importing from Asia simple just not CofC relevant.

We're not in EU..

It looks like a generic advert, various lengths and base manufacturers quoted

IVECO/BENZ/FORD/FOTON/DONGFENG/JINBEI

My experience of dealing with Chinese manufacturers is they will reply yes to anything and quality control can be a major issue! However if you find a good one they can be very good.

Must be worth a follow up?

How is your black tank progressing?

You would have to pay a duty in China, on top of the purchase price, that's what I thought you were ignoring, will put my glasses on! I would imagine unless you were setting a dealership up with factory backing and spares back up as many hurdles as possible would be put in your way with bureaucracy. As for the base vehicles are you sure they are European models, the Chinese have a habit of ignoring copyright issues and borrowing trademarks, Good luck in your endeavour's

It's priced in US$ and if your not there to take delivery they will leave it with a neighbour

Thanks for that 😁, I have just spent a happy hour going through the Alibaba site looking at all the camper/truck options and letting my imagination run riot with the possibilities 🤔👍👍👍👍👍

I like the idea of the slideouts at both the side and rear. I'd love a nosey in one before I risked buying one though. Does that look like a washing machine in the video at 12 secs?

Hi, l can confirm this is cabin only. I tested the water with an enquiry recently. Best advice stay away. As others have said cost plus taxes shipping not forgetting IVA. They do have a strange way of working regarding your enquiry the pole opposite of how we do things here. The majority of Australian and American off road type products cabins, trailers etc are manufactured there. Not breaking news as we all know China is the factory of the world.

Why not go to China to have a look and then drive it home, certainly test the durability of your purchase.
It's a very interesting place to visit or at least it was a few years ago.
Avoiding Russia of course on the drive home.

Apparently RV sales are booming in China.

Isn't that the old LDV?
And Maxus vans are sold in UK..
Yes I looked at some in Brighton. panel vans 68k + vat
a chassis cab, electric, swbase was 40k + vat & it looked worse than the welding i do
It's priced in US$
makes it even cheaper.

I was thinking that.
