New 16" Steel Rims

Recently a seen a thread that mentioned getting new rims for Winter tyres. But cant find it to check if Supplier or load rating was mentioned.
Ive been concidering for a while that when i needed new tyres i would go upto 16 and up a load rating for further possible uplating (already at 3850 and since added rear air assist). But where to get rims? Any experience out there?

The Wheel Shop do new wheels, and deals for wheels with tyres.
Halmerend Tyres near Stoke on Trent also do similar deals.

I bought mine from this supplier.

Try ebay..

I bought a set of 4 x 15inch rims to replace alloys that were flaking and also losing air..

Got them from an ebay seller.. they were 'new old stock' no doubt from a new van that was having alloys fitted... not a scratch on the, £132 for the set of four . inc delivery ..

They were the best priced new steel wheels that I could find and they came very well packaged.

Make sure the rims are load rated appropriately. When I contacted one eBay seller they did no know the load rating!

I got a new genuine Fiat rim with tyre as a spare wheel in the end.

And....... What is the compulsion to buy cheap rims and tyres when you have 10's of thousands of £ above them?

something like these, 130 pcd tyres are 118 so rim’s should be high enough load

More a case of why pay more for the same thing, depends on the way you are defining "cheap", cheap in quality or cheap in price, the two do not always go hand in hand.

I was referring to cheap on quality. It's one thing I would not compromise on. I have seen the results......

The last thing i'd want holding up my axles are cheap alloys, they are Cheap, quality steel is preferable in my eyes and in this case less expensive. A better range of tyres doesn't just mean cheaper ones. Paying rediculous money doesn't mean fit for purpose, just look at those moaning about Michelin Tyres.

Yes. You just said you went to The Wheel Shop. What did you buy? You have not said.

When I was looking a couple of years ago the only quality high load rated wheels with certification to prove it was from Germany. They had been load rated and tested by TUV for approval. Essential for insurance purposes and safety

Facebook market place often has wheels available. I got a set with as new tyres a couple of years back for £200 due to owner fitting alloys.

Would not get the idea that a company who's business is WHEELS (giveaway is in the company name "The Wheel Shop") would be selling dodgy dangerous wheels.
Both the1andonly and I checked on load rating and The Wheel Shop website states the vehicle compatibility, have you actually looked at their website or are you just on a windup?

I have looked at their website. I have also come across them before and dismissed them.
I personally would not buy from anyone that does not specify the load rating in the rim specification (I know you have asked and got a figure). The rims do not appear to be TUV approved.
Anyway, it's your choice, your van, your insurance and your lives.
