Need ideas for a new radio for 2015 Fiat Ducato Swift Kontiki 679?

Hi folks,
My partner cannot stand our current Kontiki radio as it’s full of static and loses the channel really easy - it’s hard to find and keep channels and he wants to update it.

So ……….. please can I ask what people have put in their Swift Kontiki and how easy was it and who did the work?

We live in Surrey so although we want to keep our MH with as much of its originality as possible it is already a Coachbuilt converted van for my disability so to be honest he just wants a good reliable piece of kit that you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to use lol .

Do you know what make the radio/head unit is…..? A photo would help too, to determine what sort of replacement unit might fit…….

Before you replace the radio it could be worth getting a local car audio supplier to check that a faulty ariel is not the cause of problem .

That’s a fair comment as I have been told supposedly aerial is in wing mirror ??

T'eyes cc3 head unit is very good and based on latest Android. It is single din and so will fit with no modifications .They also have the fiat ducato surrounds so look smart when fitted.They also get great reviews.

No make written on it but it’s original with MH.

yes and, in our experience in 2 vans, rubbish.
Even if you replace the radio (head unit) I would recommend a good aerial.
we have a windscreen mounted and it works well.

We did wonder about that as I feel the aerial is more the issue than radio.

Thank you for this - you say they also have Fiat Ducato surrounds ? Can you go to them to have it all done and if so where are they situated as I couldn’t find out on the website ?

What about streaming your chosen radio station through the radio from a phone. We find it successful. Just need a decent data plan on the phone. I’m assuming your unit had a cable or Bluetooth input?

It was a Halfords glass mount. About £20 I think. I thought I would try a cheaper one first. Works well with the odd DAB drop out in poor reception areas.

Smokaijo , If you have decided you do require a new audio system , Halfords Guildford should be able to supply and fit a system and/or aerial along with the correct surround for a Fiat Ducato. Although you may get a better deal / service from a local independent car/van audio supplier/fitter ,( they may also be mobile ) , who should also be able to supply the correct system with a surround to suit a Fiat Ducato , (which can be purchased as a separate item when required . )

It has a media button so I’m guessing it can - but getting it to do that will be a challenge like everything else has been lol .

once your phone is connected it should happen automatically easier than replacing the head unit.

No you buy and find a local installer or do it yourself

Halfords. Glass mount passenger side top of screen.
You have to remove a pillar trim and feed back of glove box to radio.
I also fitted a booster which came with the radio.

Yep this seems to be what all Kontiki owners find - it’s shocking really as to be honest I cannot begin to fathom why they would ever put an aerial in a mirror !!!
