Hi not sure if anyone can help but here goes.

My mum and dad have finished with there auto trail, they travelled in it for over 10 years, as they have not used it since lock down and they are now not medically fit to drive. They have told my son he can have the van. the van will not start possibly needs a new starter motor and also needs an MOT.
My Son, as with me, live in Devon, he would like to get the van back to Devon so he can spend a few months servicing, cleaning and bringing it back to life as its not been used now for nearly 5 years. It is on a 2007 Plate and was once my mums pride and joy.

I wondered if any of you know of someone near Doncaster that can either fix it and service it up there, so that it can be driven to Devon, that will not charge a fortune, or know someone that has way of towing or transporting it to Devon.

My Son is quite happy to pay just does not pay over the top.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Something to check before you commit to a plan... What is the plated weight of the van? If it's more than 3500kg, drivers will need a C1 license. I'm guessing you'll probably have the entitlement. But your son might not.

You may be able to hire a 7.5 ton self drive recovery truck and move it yourself providing you have a C1 licence as Guigsy says.

Could also try Shiply or a return load specialist with a low loader to get the van down. At least if it’s here you would save on labour and may be cheaper and easier in the long run.
