We’re travelling near Gijon and our leisure batteries are not holding charge. Does anyone know a electrician that can help please

Some additional info might help. How old are the batteries? Has it been a gradual loss, or started recently?
Is the fault noticed when on hook up as well? How old is the van? Is it new to you?
Do you have any solar input? Has any work been undertaken to the electrics recently?

Are you anywhere near a Feu Vert?( French halfords type outlet) get them to check the battery for you and change it if necessary

Also Norauto are similar, a chain that does car spares and accessories like Halfords.

But there's a Feu Vert (= Green Light) in Gijon, in the Centre Commercial La Calzada which has a big Carrefour store.

What kind of leisure batteries are they? If you change them for a different type (Gel, AGM, flooded) you might have to change some settings on the chargers (mains, solar, B2B). If you don't know the battery type, do you have the model number?

You said 'batteries', so you have more than one.maybe only one of them is bad, and is pulling the other one down. Are you on hookup, and able to charge them? You could charge them separately, and see if one of them is OK.

Just had the leisure batteries tested and one is totally dead.
Van is 04 Fiat Ducato and have had extra leisure battery and solar fitted.
All been working perfectly until we hit Spain on Sunday
Motorhome works perfectly on hook up.
So I’m assuming replace broken battery and all ok ?
That being the case can anyone put us in the direction of a outlet that will supply the leisure battery please.
Thanks

If you're predominately on hook up a second battery isn't essential. Always best to replace like for like with batteries, [ battery make up, flooded, gel ect]. Some of the other post have flagged up local to you suppliers.
If not urgent, could it wait till you're back?
Standard lead acids shouldn't be that expensive.

Thanks. Went to Feu Vert in Gijon and had battery replaced…€260 !!!
Allowing battery to settle in and achieve full charge so going to a campsite tomorrow on hook up for a couple of days…fingers crossed
Thanks for the advice
