see here + CCC site at Kingsbury Water Park. CAMC used to run a temporary site in one of the NEC car parks, but not sure if they can be bothered these days?

enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Why not extend to a two day trip and visit the National Arboretum, though it's a lot of walking round over the two days. The National Arboretum really is a worth a visit and they do run a 'bus tour' around the site.

You could try the C&MC site at Withall, just off the M42, not far from NEC to drive on the day. We have used it for an overnight stop. Other one would be Somers Wood, very close to NEC (might even be walkable) but I think they hike their prices that week

Itā€™s about a 5 mile hike from Somers Wood, but direct bus route from down the road in Meridan to NEC. Iā€™d be surprised if theyā€™ve got any availability though. Easy & free parking for MHs at the NEC so no problem staying several miles out.

Thank you for replies, such a shame they donā€™t do overnights with the clubs like they used to.
Can you return to van for break and lunch extra in the car park ?

Also havenā€™t been since they closed the temp site, used to enjoy walking around the show, then the evening having food, beer and enjoying the entertainment. Shame they donā€™t do it anymore.

Warwick racecourse CMC site appears to have availability that week, not too far to drive.

We drove up in the morning and then drove over to Stratford Race Course and stayed there, pretty easy drive and a lovely town to walk around.

You could try the Dog and Doublet at Bodymoor Heath, it's just a big pub car park so the usual rules re eating/drinking apply.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club do have a site at the NEC.

Location: NEC Birmingham North Car parks 10 and 10a.

Come and stay a stone's throw away from The Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham's NEC, 16-22 October, where we will be running an on-site campsite which opens a day before The Motorhome and Caravan Show begins. Book now to avoid disappointment!

Not cheap though:

From Ā£31 to Ā£46 per night, pitches include:

  • Hard standing touring pitch
  • Electrical hook up
  • Toilets on-site
  • Fresh water and waste disposal
  • Shuttle service from the campsite to the main show entrance
