NDS Solar Panel Wiring

I’ve got an NDS 120w solar panel on the motorhome roof (it was on when I bought it) and when I put a multimeter on the wires to test which was positive, I found that the black wire was positive and the red/brown was negative. This was the opposite to my expectation.

I’ve just bought another identical panel and found that to be the opposite way around, red/brown is positive and black negative.

Don’t suppose it matters what colour the wire is as long as I know which is positive, but it does seem odd.

Anyone else found this type of inconsistency?

The first panel I put on, both cables were black and no markings at the panel end.

On my Hymer the leisure battery cables were black+ brown- I think it’s an international thing
