Anyone used it lately?

I'm in Toronto at moment and need to see a doctor. It's not life threatening jul food poisoning on top of a really bad cold.
I've called both the Nationwide and Aviva numbers but they say they are busy and to call back later.
Should I just go to docs and get a bill and see what Aviva/Nationwide say when I get home ?

Anyone in a life threatening situation would be treated in hospital as a matter of course with their insurance details noted and pursued later, I see little difference in your situation where you need to be seen to prevent your situation worsening. I would keep calling up until the time you're seen by the medics, if you get no answer from the insurers it's no fault of yours.

They told me to go to the nearest hospital when I was ill then refused the claim on a piffling technically.
Do you feel lucky?

Get yourself sorted while trying to keep them in the loop. It's your health is it really worth postponing getting fixed if they don't employ enough people to answer the phones.

Tried 6 times since yesterday still no answer. We've checked both numbers and tried the app, which is a total waste of time. When I get home someone is going to get both barrels.

Have you seen a doctor and are you ok?

Couldn't get to a doc, so went to pharmacy. I had food poisoning then the grandchildren are all full of cold sneezing and coughing everywhere and gave me a really bad cold. On top of that these house have blown air heaters which make me even worse, wife is almost as bad as well. Not life threatening....yet. but it's been 2 weeks of this and not feeling any better...
bloody old age eh ?

Managed to get to a walk in centre, waited less than 2 hours, cost $50 canadian and $17 for amoxycillon. So £37 all in.
I'm happy as that's quick service.

Had to get my son who works for the Foreign Office to call Nationwide, they have been extremely helpful since. But may not bother making a claim..

I did a claim for cancelled holiday with Nationwide in the summer. Wife rang up and spoke to them a couple of times without issue. All processed quickly without any hassle.
