Do we know the duration time for being in EU if you have one of these accounts, looked on there site for contact phone number but no joy, looks like you only get 30 day medical cover but can't find any breakdown cover info.

Cheers

No limit in breakdown cover from what I gather. I asked when I took out the account and made it clear to the clerk in the branch it was my primary reason for opening the account.

I've been out the UK 8 months so far

Personally I'd want to read and see the information in the Policy document rather than rely on "the clerk", however important a factor you make it out to be.
In the past spoken with "Insurance Specialist" at Adrian Flux, multiple things I wanted the "Insurance Specialist" assured me were included, were not when I read the policy document sent,
had to have the policy rewriten.
Caveat Emptor, it's too late when you make a claim to discover something is not as "the clerk in branch" had said it was.
It's your responsibility to ensure the policy contains everything you expect/want it to.

The only limit is weight .. as long as its under 7.5t its covered. . How long you're out the UK doesn't matter.

Many on here use it for that reason.

It's a bit daft anyway to be honest. It shouldn't matter an ounce how long you've been out the country , it has no baring on a breakdown . If the vehicle is motd and on the road a breakdown is a breakdown.

Thankfully I've never had to use it , I nearly did in Italy when I was stranded on a motorway in the middle of nowhere with a flat battery ... but by the time the girl in France had went through all the details and organised someone to come out the solar had put enough charge in to start it ...so I cancelled it and made my own way.

That should by rights be their only objection is if you overuse it ..

I only have it as safeguard don't cover vehicles over 20 years old.

Which is a shame.

We used them last year & they did ask when we left UK & when we were sailing back. Service was very good from them at the time and a local guy turned up within the hour. Dont think they cover animals when in Europe, so need to bare that in mind if you need recovery.

When I called them in Italy I had to tell them I had 4 dogs with me .. she didn't say anything.

But then in the UK with aa they insisted the dogs stay in the van anyway even on the back of the truck.....but he did let me stay in there with them 😁
