MY20 160ps Ducato PVC - is something missing in my engine lol

Since 2005! 2000+ nights so far...
Opened the bonnet (rare event as it is reliable!) and I can't recall ever seeing the below image before - so is there a cover missing?

This is central, top, high at the back of the engine.

Any idea of what it is, and if it should be covered?

(And if so, any part numbers on the cover you can share?)

edit: I've found other pics of other marques where that control box has what appears to be vacuum hoses out of it, so there may be different modules depending on engine type....

What model is this?
My x290 twin egr 2017 has the Dymax box with vacuum pipes. early x250's have a basic plate.

Google image says it's a NOX probe.
 
all normal, that's the Lambda sensor that goes into the exhaust but not cover is on it
thats why you see a lot of complaints about water ingress in these engines and people are making rain diverters on their 3d printers, I GOT ONE AND IT WORKS OK
