Adria 680ST Gold
went to test drive the Bessacar E650 its a very nice van but sadly again NO AIRCON and no Cruise control I have been looking again , rejected a few others I have looked at ,

Now I have upped my game and am now looking at a 2011 Burstner 720 Nexxo Fiat Base its mint and has Towbar already , cruise aircon everything I want , ,, yes its £8000 more but its, younger less miles only 31k , , Its German build quality a bit bigger at 7.2m , The German build quality really does show when you look close at the fittings , furniture etc , has new MOT , Service , and Habituation checks

no need to go looking for a towbar install as its got one , only needs a Solar Panel install and maybe a MIFI booster .

I will test drive it tommorow ,, they are asking £41,000 with 6 months warranty do you think I should offer £39k????

also seen this Hymer , but its seems to good to be true ????? s

I will also be fitting a Sharp Aqeos 32'' flatscreen TV which I have modified for 12v use as the piddly little ones fitted as

The Hymer is listed as a left hand drive 3.0 manual, their words in ad.
Pictures show right hand drive!
Check the mot history and it is listed as a 2.3 engine.
Unless the seller has multiple adds that he made a mistake with or possibly they dont sell many motorhomes, warranty work may be lacking?

Looking from the front the reg looks like FX10AXB which is a 3.0ltr Fiat.
From the rear it looks like FX10AXD which is a 2.3ltr Fiat.

Rear is the most clear picture, seller possibly not familiar with motorhomes as they state its lhd

AXB has just had mot 31k on clock
AXD is due an mot in August. Last mot 22k on the clock.
Picture of the rear clearly show FX10AXD.

AXB On Gov website is a Silver Hymer
AXD is a White Fiat Ducato

Something very dodgy here.

I think someone has been ‘clever’ with the black fixing screw for the number plate and is trying to alter the reg number to fool cameras.
To me it looks like a B with the screw going thru the bar of the B.
Either way I wouldn’t go for it unless you can find out more.

Maybe it's because it's my first motorhome and I've not experienced anything else but I'm not impressed with 'German build quality ' in my 2021 Burstner. Or maybe non Germans are even worse!!! I have heard that older Burstners are better than the new ones so maybe that's it.

i also looked at a HYMER today which i loved , it ticked all my boxes and I was happy to bust my budget by £7k.
However even though its 1m smaller than the Burstner it is 4500kg but as my C1 license has been revoked by accident and i cant get DVLA to sort it out for several months as its a cockup with the medical dept I will have to pass on it

The Burstner Ticks 80% of my boxes ,, I want a French bed , Garage , and autobox but it does not have those The Hymer did
still looking but I have a deadline i must have a van by 15 August

i looked at 6 vans today some too expensive other poor build qualty or issues . then spotted A HYMER today which i loved , it ticked all my boxes and I was happy to bust my budget by £7k. it could have been the forever van .
However even though its 1m smaller than the Burstner it is 4500kg solid build quality , but as my C1 license has been revoked by accident and i cant get DVLA to sort it out for several months as its a cockup with the medical dept I will have to pass on it

The Burstner Ticks 80% of my boxes ,, I want a French bed , Garage , and autobox but it does not have those and other i saw that had that layout were no good or pricey The Hymer was 100% perfect
still looking but I have a deadline i must have a van by 15 August and its got to be under 3500kg

I think there is a general consensus that older Burstners were built better than the newer ones.

I think most older vans were built better than the new ones.

Well some things have improved. Layout ideas, space, less use in some cases no use of wood. Better water ingress protection. Better electrics. etc

HI again

so I am now doing a deal on a 2009 fully loaded Adria 680st but its been a bit of a journey as over last 3 days I have covered over 1000 miles in car looking at 6 vans from worthing to reading , manchester, lincoln, I saw 2 Swift sundance 630g with the layout I liked and big garage large enough to hold my ducati ,, I was originally told by webbs that they were 3,5 ton but they are actually C1 so with my current DVLA problem and the fact it will take at least 6months to sort they are now out of the picture

The Adria is very nice and so I will have to get an easylifter or armitage trailer for the bike which is a compromise and i will need good covers to keep it clean when in transit ,,, maybe in the future I will get my C1 back from DVLA and then I can go for bigger van
