My favourite cleaning product for a really deep clean, demonstrated perfectly.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
I've always used TFR on my motorhome if it has been allowed to get seriously grotty, but often wondered how it compared to other cleaners.
So today I was watching one of my favourite You-tubers who normally work on cars, however, they recently bought a wee cabin cruiser which needed a deep clean which they got stuck into on today's video.
I'm not suggesting that you use a pressure washer on your motorhome, its the TFR that I'm on about.

I think polish is the least of my concerns by the time things get this grotty, which sadly mine is after a year of going nowhere (long story).
So its due a deep clean, then a chamois dry, followed by a decent coat of wax.
So I'm not suggesting for one moment that anyone uses TFR every time they wash their motorhome, but it does an amazing job when required.
The caustic version is the only cleaner that I've ever known that brings white locker surrounds back to white when they've yellowed.
The photo below was a caravan which I bought that was filthy & all the lockers had yellowed, the results speak for themselves.

Do you have an amazon link to the TFR brand specific that you use/recommend please?

I usually just buy it from E Bay, making sure that its the caustic type, the non caustic simply doesn't work.
I ordered some today, 25ltrs for about £22 that'll last me for years, oh & its superb at cleaning alloy wheels.

Hp[e that helps..Rob.

Do you think he gargles with the stuff, those teeth look like he’s borrowed them from Rylan Clarke 🤦🏼‍♂️

Looks a great product, but how is it on roof mastic etc. I’d use it to clean my roof and if it brightens up the yellowing plastics, then brilliant, but wonder about the caustic effects on the roof vents and windows.

I wouldn't go anywhere near windows etc with anything caustic! 😳

No of course not, but when it runs, as it will, down and around the windows, then what the effect be on the mastic 🤦🏼‍♂️

Read this too, so I’m torn between wanting a good cleaner and effects on the van, especially ally

I don't use any particular brand, they all seem to do the same job.
TFR is used extensively by ambulance services up & down the land & they simply buy from the cheapest supplier (like me) & some of them now contain wax, but how effective this is is debatable.

Sorry this isn't a definitive answer mate...Rob.

TFR is ok as long as you rinse every bit of it off. otherwise as said it doesn't like being left on ali, galvanised or chrome. it eats them.

They used this one on the boat as all there cleaning products come from them

The roof on an ambulance has mastic joints as well as my motorhome & I'm about to clean that with no worries.
I don't use it to clean the underside, so I don't worry about galvi chassis.
I certainly have a before photo of my motorhome roof & if I get the chance, I'll pop an after photo, but the van is filthy as it sits in the shade all winter.

It was a definitive answer (y)

I didn't want to buy one and find out it was the wrong brand and the one I got was crap. But if they all seem to do the same job, then no problems.

Most helpful, thank you :)

Thanks, I’ve also noted that your chimney mushroom is missing and a chance for rain to get in. Lost mine on a low branch last week, but luckily it got wedged under the satellite dish.

Easy to screw on and easily knocked off.

I use wash and wax from carplan. I have some tfr in the garage that I have had for ten years that iI used on other plant , paving etc. I have seen it take the shine off painted vehicles and the becomes more difficult to keep clean . I will never use it on the van or car. I pressure wash once or twice a year but avoit the gluey bits . Mines pvc . scew fix do some stong cleaner as well but I would only use on wheels which are painted steel.

I usually do the windows with ordinary car was shampoo
I certainly never go near them with a brush, that'd mark them beyond repair.

I've got a brand new chimney mushroom here for it. I can't think who might have caused a bang that blew the old one away??:banghead::banghead::banghead:
