My door retainer

Morning everyone!!! My retainer for hab door perished. Fitted a new one but not working?? Picture attached. Answers on a post card please. Is it upside down?

Reduce the image size if you try uploading a full size image on a slow connection it will stall.

Is it upside down? Does that lip on the top, stop the door from clicking in to the retainer?

That is simplar to a Veneta door retainer, normally the two clips should have a small gap between them to allow the peg to locate.
Is it by any chance a different make to the original so the mounting hole spacing is slightly different which is what is forcing it together.

New clips are anything from £3 to £7 ish dead easy to fit just remember to seal all screw holesIf you’re away in the van press on one side with thumb to open the gap up to allow the door to clip in
