There was a thread somewhere about an older van that had been cleaned up professionally and looked like new.
Looked but couldn't find it bit someone may know.

Had Tourshine do my van a few years back and they did a good job.
If you want to do it yourself start with a good wash then Autoglym Super Resin Polish then a good sealer after that. Was told to use a damp cloth when using applying polish then buff off with a dry one.

We had Tourershine on both our last vans from new. Nick tells me it made a huge difference to the ease of cleaning. They always looked lovely and shiny. Man work as far as I am concerned. I think it’s guaranteed for 5 years. They recommend Autoglym products after.

I bought a couple of "Clay detailing cloths" recommended by a professional bodywork guy, they're amazing for getting flysheet and road dirt off.

As an ex professional detailer I can say AG SRP is only good if you are selling your van that week. It is a soft wax with fillers that looks good initially but no matter how you Polish it, it remains sticky. It attracts dust and black streaks.
If you don't believe me nake a test area below a window. You will see the black streaks very soon.

The above all seem to be clean and polish.
Mine was the same after almost 4 yrs constantly in the sun, I think a respray would be the only method of ‘back to white’.
My guess would be £3 to £4k respray.

Another vote for Tourshine, not cheap at around £500 but after they've finished you'll have a Motorhome looking like new, they will even polish all the small scratches out on the windows.

With so many recommendations for a good clean and polishing works to restore the original finish why do you think painting would be needed?

I’m no expert so go see a bodywork garage for advice but going off dulling and damages the sun had done to mine, there’s no way it would go back to colour via polishing because that colour is no longer there.

Discolouration will be due to oxidisation of your original finish caused by weathering and UV damage. These effects can normally be cut back with polishing compounds to restore the original colour and shine.

The colour is still there it's just oxidised over, after a season sailing our yacht looked very dull and sad, once the polishing guys had finished the hull came up like new, obviously there are only so many times a surface can be cut back but when done you'll have a brand new surface.

That’s why I would get advice from an expert. Lots of possibilities.ive seen cars cleaned and polished and brings it up a treat, then before long it looks similar. Most are reputable( they are that busy they don’t need the work nowadays)and a couple of visits should help you decide. Good luck. I’d love to see the finished work.
