Hymer swing 494

Dry van forever Moho new
Hi Hymerites! I have a not-quite-classic 1996 Hymer Swing 494 on a Fiat Ducato can and chassis. I love it but can't continue to own it as it is UK registered and I have had to take Spanish residency since Brexit, as I spend more than 90 days out of 180 in Spain.

Spanish residents aren't allowed to own and drive UK registered vehicles. I have tried the avenue of registering it in Spain, but the long story cut short is that it's practically impossible without the Type number and Hymer can't supply that for this model. So....

What I'm after from you is:

a) sympathy that I lose my home from home
b) any advice about how to go about selling it, where to attract the right buyers and not horrible people who just kick tyres and suck the air backwards through their teeth and offer peanuts.

I'd expected never to have to. Thought we'd die together, so to speak! So this is pretty painful actually.
I'll post this in a few groups because someone somewhere will know what's best

Give it a good spruce up, take loads of good photos and pop an ad up in the classifieds on here. If there is anyone extremely interested in it then I don't see a flight out to Spain to see it and pick it up as a problem.

What about clean and polish it all , take photos, list out service history and mot expiry date and send it to the adverts in the back of motorhome magazine. Sell to one of them , drive it back to Uk and fly back to Spain.

Sorry to hear that Clare. I was just on the point of txting to see whether any progress had been made?
Have you tried Arno at https://seguroparking.com/ ?

They can import some vehicles without COC. And I’m told it’s easier if you are becoming a resident. It’s €100+ for no COC.
I think most avenues have been explored. Basically now, if you have nothing in section 'K' of a UK V5 there is no hope.

Personally I would not travel to Spain with a pocket full of cash to buy a motorhome, with so many scams and chatel mortgages etc I think a few others will think the same, which would reduce the customer base.

It is a UK van all legal & currently in the Uk, I believe.

I am just saying what the average person would think, I think people are more trusting if it was in the Uk. There are lots of scams about and unless it was really cheap I think there are easier ways to buy something.
Sorry mis read the bit about being in Uk already.
