Murder on Aire in Dordogne

My original post wasn’t meant as a criticism...I thought it was funny. Mind you I wouldn’t have thought it was so funny if I’d turned up after a long drive and there were no spaces....in that case I’d have just driven through the tape....but all is good as most aires are half full because of you know what...and I’m leaving tomorrow anyway...😊

I thought, from the title, we were going to have another “gassing” thread!(y)

Disappointed.:(
Perhaps that was what it was...I’ll enquire tomorrow before I leave....

To be honest they would normally only choose huge Aires and if they don’t invite you for an apéro that is very unusual . Unless of course there are lots of others !
Both times I took our french club to Scotland and we pitched up on a site ( they usually gave us pitches together ) our president invited anyone parked on adjacent pitches and likewise when we have sorties here .
I understood your post was tongue in cheek so just explained it is pretty normal .
Just a shame people can’t accept things may be different in another country and get irate on your behalf

What has gone wrong with this site ? Every post ends up in an bad way !
There seems to be members who would argue with their shadow or pick a fight in an empty room !!
Oh no they wouldn’t.
Phil;)

Most of them are arriving tomorrow apparently ...18...and I’m sure they would’ve invited me for an apero (is that the same as an Aperol ? ) and if not I’d have just joined in anyway but it looks like I’ll miss out as I’m leaving tomorrow as I said.

Shame . Apéro depends on who is doing it . Snacks and drinks .

It’s lockdown fever
We don’t know what lockdown is ! Try living lockdown in Melbourne Australia ! If you haven’t seen it in the news worthwhile looking it up ! A walk in the park in Europe lol

I have joined many a local and not so local groups, all it takes is walk over and give a greeting.
Once with group of Germany campingcar club members, could not find my campingcar after the evening, not sure why it all became blurr of Wine BBQ and laughing.
The ethos is quite different, join in they expect us to be standoffish! Prove them wrong.

At a site near Poitier a group of Germans drifted in through the day and come evening they started putting tables, chairs and food out for a communal gathering so I walked across and put our towels on a couple of chairs. They saw the funny side and invited us over for the evening.

I am absolutely sick and tired of anti French comments, I've been to France countless times and have only ever found them to be pleasant. polite and helpful, in fact just like everyone else we have met, I would suggest if someone has problems with foreign nationals, it may be of their making, if you don't like them, stay at home.
