I looked on the App Store and searched online, but I can’t find what the annual cost would be to use Multiecuscan on a MacBook.
My Windows PC is broken now so I would have to buy a new one or install the program on my iPad.
I could of course buy a new Windows laptop but I hate Windows.

I believe it is not possible to run on a macbook, only on an iphone or ipad. currently $60pa but a special offer somewhere $60 for 2 yr then back to $60 pa. basicaly apple tax. windows £$Eu50 one off fee 1 year updates. I'm affraid the most sensible is a new (even second hand, can still be used with XP) windows laptop. tou can transfer alicience from one laptop to another upto 10 times

Think it’s circa £50 a year for the IOS version. It won’t work without paying each year though, the only way to make it work with a Mac is through a Windows emulator.

If you use a windows PC, it won’t update to latest after a year but will work for life for the same money.

On the Fiat forum, most people use Windows version and don’t rate the IOS version, unusual I know.

I didn’t have a windows laptop PC either, managed to pick up a decent compact one for £100. It does work amazingly well and was worth the investment already.

See this thread for why I needed it and it worked really well.

Thanks all. I am installing a VM on my MacBook but I might just buy a cheep windows laptop just got this job.
Then I will have to have an inverter because not using the windows laptop much will probably memento the battery will go flat and die on me 😂

If you get it working please doccument it, as you will be the second to achieve it, and the first doesnt know how to do it again.

I worked in IT throughout my career and have VMs operating fine on my MacBook Pro but failed to get MulitECUscan to function despite many attempts. However, I would never suggest that it is impossible but clearly needs more luck or knowledge than I was able to muster!

My solution was to pick up a cheap Lenovo Windows 11 notebook in Currys sale for a little over £100 and this worked fine. Compared to my MacBook, the Lenovo with Windows is glacial in speed for loading and updating, but for the function it was intended - running MultiECUscan - it is more than adequate.

Right tools for the job. I also have worked in IT, and still do, that gives me the sense to avoid this kind of thing like like the plague!
I avoid all Apple / IOS things where possible, unless it is the reverse of this situation where it is indeed the right tool for the job, but that isn't so often. Apple/IOS has it's place for certain things.

That’s encouraging 😓. Progress so far is I have win10 running on my MacBook but it’s a bit slow so still working on it.
I have win 8 - 10 and 11 running on my iMac. Not got round to installing multiECscan yet because I picked up my new motorhome today and I want to get it all set up and all the gear in so it will be a few weeks before I return to the project.
I will report back when it’s finished or I give up and get a windows laptop.
