Just a heads up for those looking for mobile SIMs for MotorHome WiFi.

There are such things as multi network SIMs. These will work across multiple providers. I haven’t had cause to use one, but in my line of business I was made aware of their existence.

The idea being that hopefully when out in the sticks the SIM will connect to at least one of the providers.

Here is an example.

There are other providers of such SIMs out there. Be warned they can be expensive though.

Looks horrendously expensive?

12 months 10gb a month for £660pa,- £55pm - makes Starlink looks reasonable!

RWG are bringing out something similar soon, let's hope they are better value as this would be verh useful.

At 10p a mb that's £100 a GB so £12,000pa 🤮

Duo SIM phones are available if that's an option? Not sure if there are triple SIM phones ....??

They look great for someone who travels around the UK a lot and needs to contactable by phone, text or the occasional email. 👍

I've been using dual sim phones for more than 10 years! So I don't have to carry around 2 phones. my own and one one for work. The latest ones seem to have gone to having a single slot and an eSim where it's downloaded onto a chip in the phone. It's useful though, I have an EE network sim for my own number and work is a Vodafone.

We've had decent results with a dual sim router (with an external antenna). runs on 12V. Most of the time I only pay for a giffgaff sim for it, at £10-£15 a month depending on usage. If we are going out of O2 coverage for a while then I buy a vodafone or EE payg one for the other slot. My phone is on 3 so between the lot we are usually contactable and able to stream TV or listen to the interwebs when we want. Having an external antenna on our panel van made a massive difference to the internet speed.

This is because O2 have multiple roaming agreements with networks in each country, so your SIM can hop onto any permitted network.

It was in the GSM specs! In home country it must use 'home' network, abroad (roaming) it can use any (manual network selection). Maybe specs have changed since I retired though. Check out ETSI and 3GPP for more info if you haven't got a life! When I worked, a sim for all home networks would have been forbidden. One way might be use say a French sim, register it in France but use it all the time in the UK?

Because as an in roamer you can select any network provided there is a mutual roaming agreement in place. 😉

Yes I'm waiting for the flexi data sim only from RWG promised for December and to be ideal for occasional usage in moho, hoping it's on stand by in-between trips which will be perfect 👌

I spoke to them last week, and they suggested it would be January at the earliest, despite their email in November saying "later this month" (November)!

Any idea if it work abroad unlike their existing 200gb data SIMs which are only applicable to U.K. data, or will it be more like the ‘Global’ SIM that does work throughout the EU and elsewhere?

They did say their would be no roaming😳

Unfortunately that makes it useless for many of us.

Yep, in that case, and until something better come along, I’ll hang on to their standard £20 ‘Big Data’ 200gb phone SIM which does work in the EU - despite the reduction to 100gb data abroad.
