A long while ago I used Roadtrippers to plan road trips but it now only supports USA & Canada destinations and is also no longer free, hence me searching for an alternative.
I have had a recommendation for the MRA Routeplanner. There is a free version with quite a lot of functionality including unlimited waypoints.
There is a lot of functionality available and therefore there would need to be an investment in learning the software so, before I start in on it, has anyone else used it and can advise on the good and bad points please?

I've been using MRA for a few years now for planning motorcycle trips. In my view it is the best route planner for my needs.

I now use the navigation app on a tablet for the motorhome. This part is under development and growing fast. It is superior to my Garmin GPS which has been thrown in the bin.

I confess that I wasn't expecting any replies so it was good to see yours pop up!
Have you tried MRA for planning your moho travel and, if so, is it good for that use as well as for bikes?
Is it worth paying for the silver or gold versions of MRA?
There is a deal on for their nav app at the moment (maybe its like the DFS sales and always available!) so is it suitable for vans/mohos or really just for bikes?
Thanks again for the response!

I'll answer in 2 parts.
1: For route planning for all my motorcycle trips I used the free version, just register and plan. I got my mates to register too and then we could share routes. We all had Garmin Zumo GPS and with enough via points all had similar routes.

I bought the Navigation app for about £70 in January this year as a beta tester. It has since developed to include vehicle width, height and length and I believe TPMS will be included in the future.

I save many places to Favorites and in the MoHo just select them in order to navigate from home to an LPG station then to a camp site. Using apps like mylpg.eu one can find a station, select Navigate and MRA will take me there. I realise many navigation apps can do similar, just saying to stop others telling me about these apps.

I will answer more on route planning in Part 2 but suggest if you haven't done so yet you register for a free online account on MRA.

I have used MRA for a few years for motorcycle trips. As it has developed it has become a lot easier to download routes to a GPS. Latest versions have MH friendly features but I am yet to use them. I, and my motorcycle mates are big fans of MRA. We can access, and download, each others routes as well as access the MRA library. It does feel as if you are a beta-tester for a lot of the time but as far as I know it is the best system on the market.
