Does anyone know if my Elektroblock EBL 104-2 on my 1995/96 Hymer still charge the leisure batteries on tickover? Only I’ve heard in the past that the alternator doesn’t charge below such and such revs?
Also…I’m thinking of buying a Victron 30amp b2b, the unisolated model. Is that the right option?
Would this work with such an old vehicle? I ask as Victron mention using with a “smart” alternator.
And…do I need to disconnect the Elektroblock EBL 104-2 before installing?
Finally…I currently have 2 x 70ah lead acid batteries, I can find absolutely nowhere a schematic layout for this with 2 batteries. Any ideas? And I mean for a non electrical type such as me. The batteries are connected pos to pos and neg to neg.

Can't help with the rest, but if your alternator wasn't putting out any charge, the red "battery" light would illuminate on your dash ?

I've got all Victron gear. But I skipped their B2B. It needs quite a lot of cooling or it quickly gets hot and stops supplying 30A until it cools off again. I got a Votronic 30A B2B instead. It's more efficient so kicks out less heat, and it has a small fan if it does get warm. It won't appear in the Victron app, but the B2B basically only said 'on/off' anyway, so I'm not losing much.

Not advisable to idle the engine for extended periods.
It will glaze the cylinder bores resulting in some loss of power and possible increased oil consumption.

You can test yourself. Multimeter on battery and see what charge being supplied.
